In the fantasy baseball league I am in this year we are doing a minor league draft. We are starting with the AL.

The following players are off the board:

Danny Hultzen
Fransisco Lindor
Byron Buxton
Matt Barnes
Jonathan Singleton
Kyle Zimmer
Addison Russell
Miguel Sano
Alex Meyer
George Springer
Mason Williams
Trevor Bauer
Rougned Oder
Henry Owens
Matt Davidson
Mark Appel

When my pick comes around again, I am hoping that Clint Frazier, Aaron Sanchez, or Kohl Stewart are still available.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Who would you take?

And thus ends the one year experiment of drafting minor league players.

The league that I am now a part of has been doing this for years. I just took over someones team. You draft minor league players and hold their rights and if they ever make the majors then you get them for the first 2 years at a very low price.

are you in this thing for some long haul or trying to win in the next couple seasons? If you want to win right away, I would take Kevin Hausman of the Orioles or Chris Beck of the White Sox. Those guys are almost certain to pitch this year. I expect Beck in the rotation within the month.

Beck is a good suggestion. The guy from the Orioles was just taken.

I was able to get Appel with my first pick.

For the NL one I got the third pick and hoping to get Jonathan Gray or Kris Bryant.

Ok we are getting ready to have the NL Minor league draft.

I know that Bryant is going #1. I am assuming Jon Gray is going #2. If he somehow falls he will be my pick at #3.

But assuming he is gone, I am looking at the following 3 guys.

Maikel Franco 3B prospect for the Phillies

Andrew Heaney pitching prospect for Marlins

Joc Pederson OF prospect for Dodgers

Who would you go with?

You think? All the lists I have seen have him several slots below the other guys I listed.

whoever got yordano "ace" ventura has a leg up on that list so far. that kid can pitch.... he went from like 1% owned across yahoo fantasy leagues to 74% owned by opening day (be it the first or second one) and if you watched his first outing (appointment TV) he certainly did nothing to hurt that status.

personally i'm sitting on archie bradley and javvy baez in my roto league where i graciously allowed for everyone to stash up to 2 kids. i think so far so good with archie as he's gotten at least 1/2 !!! starts since the minor league season started.

personally, i think sitting on george springer or gregory polanco is the way to go. i'm only !!! for baez cuz the idea of having that bat come in and play 2B/SS for me = really nice. the former was like 34HR 37SB last year, and if minor league stats are to be believed the latter is basically starling marte with a touch more power and a bunch of more steals (which means pittsburgh will have a nice OF going forward. they really really need a big ol masher at 1B cuz the whole "ghost of gaby sanchez" thing just isn't cutting it)

so yeah, figure that bradley/polanco/springer will all be up this year.... and that baez will assault a few more teammates if he isn't (i can imagine the legendary eli whiteside laying into javvy baez during a AAA game and baez was all "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?! OH WAIT, THAT'S RIGHT.... YOU DON'T AND YOU WON'T BECAUSE I'M GOING TO THE BIG LEAGUES IN 2 MONTHS ANYWAYS... FUCK YOU" --- kind of like when puig got his speeding ticket in bumblefuck tennessee and tried to "do you know who i am?" his way out of that... i believe that howard cosell has some (HEE SEOP) CHOIce words about knowing who you are for this situation.

Ventura, Bradley, Baez, Springer, and Polanco are all already taken from previous year drafts

Well like JORR said, it depends if you're drafting for now or in a couple seasons.

I'd go Heaney and then Franco. Joc is going to be stuck in the minors with all the talent LA has already in the OF.

I'll check my list when I get home for some sleepers. Goodluck!
