* * Former WSCR-AM/670 The Score producer, reporter, writer, host, and all-around utility man Jason Goff moved to Atlanta, GA in October 2012 to take a job at a new CBS-owned sports talk sister-station there. As of yesterday, he is gone from that station. No public reason has been given by CBS Radio for their abrupt release of Goff. He sent out this simple message on his Twitter account yesterday: "It's been real, Atlanta. Thanks to everyone who has made this a terrific and wonderful ride." He will instead be heading home to Chicago to see what radio opportunities may await him there. Goff had been an official part of The Score since the start of 2000. He was unofficially part of the station long before that, being a frequent caller into the radio programs and showing up at station events, even while still in high school. WSCR-AM was his favorite station growing up in suburban Evanston. Goff was able to achieve the dream of being able be part of his favorite radio station and its success, before his promotion to Atlanta in 2012.

The other two sports stations aren’t doing well either, if that’s any solace for the Game.
Sports talk leader 680/The Fan (with 93.7 FM simulcast) had a 1.1 rating, down from 1.6 a year ago. And 790/The Zone has fallen to a 0.4 from 0.6 in March 2013.

The future holds the possibility to be great or terrible, and since it has not yet occurred it remains simultaneously both.

Meatpants has absolutely zero value to The Score. No one tunes in to listen to him. I doubt that Mitch would launch him though.

So CBS let him go for misconduct.

That is a big mistake. They can forgive you for bad ratings by hiring you in another market. Misconduct gets you blacklisted from the company (which includes the Score).

Still, I have seen plenty of DJs fired over whacky bits that went wrong still end up on their feet.

Also if you fuck someone like they are a millionaire they might go try to be one.
