* * Former WSCR-AM/670 The Score producer, reporter, writer, host, and all-around utility man Jason Goff moved to Atlanta, GA in October 2012 to take a job at a new CBS-owned sports talk sister-station there. As of yesterday, he is gone from that station. No public reason has been given by CBS Radio for their abrupt release of Goff. He sent out this simple message on his Twitter account yesterday: "It's been real, Atlanta. Thanks to everyone who has made this a terrific and wonderful ride." He will instead be heading home to Chicago to see what radio opportunities may await him there. Goff had been an official part of The Score since the start of 2000. He was unofficially part of the station long before that, being a frequent caller into the radio programs and showing up at station events, even while still in high school. WSCR-AM was his favorite station growing up in suburban Evanston. Goff was able to achieve the dream of being able be part of his favorite radio station and its success, before his promotion to Atlanta in 2012.

The other two sports stations aren’t doing well either, if that’s any solace for the Game.
Sports talk leader 680/The Fan (with 93.7 FM simulcast) had a 1.1 rating, down from 1.6 a year ago. And 790/The Zone has fallen to a 0.4 from 0.6 in March 2013.

0.4. That's crazy. Atlanta really isn't a sports town.

Meatpants has absolutely zero value to The Score. No one tunes in to listen to him. I doubt that Mitch would launch him though. When Mac goes there is no reason to keep Meat, but if they do, maybe they whack Rongey & put Meatpants on the White Sox pre & post?

So CBS let him go for misconduct.

That is a big mistake. They can forgive you for bad ratings by hiring you in another market. Misconduct gets you blacklisted from the company (which includes the Score).

Still, I have seen plenty of DJs fired over whacky bits that went wrong still end up on their feet.

Someone on his twitter feed posted about him ordering salsa while on the air or some shit.
I guess that was it.

So he wasn't involved in a sex scandal with one of the many Atlanta woMEN? I expected Beardown to be all over this story.

Pretense to nullify his contract and send him packing without severance. They fired him the day his latest ratings came out.

Oh....hey Doug......long time, huh?

Anyways, that's what got him canned? There has got to be more to it than that!

Mac had him gossed into the street for mocking his drug addictions and such....now he's jettisoned cor salsa? It's like a Seinfeld bit.

I can't believe he's been gone for a year and a half.

Goff and Drinky was a good show at one time but they sorta turned into jerks.

Why would he immediately say goodbye to Atlanta?

Getting fired could be the best thing to happen to him in that town. Now they have news reports on him and people might think he's a loose cannon. Careers can get made on that stuff.

If he comes back here now, he's still just a guy.

Description: In the final hour of the show the guys discuss Tiger Woods pulling out of the Masters, Johnny Manziel's NFL future, and different types of salsa

Also, sounds like he is totally talking about LoHo when he references "Light-Skinned-Toghness" at minute 3!

Can someone grab this and record it before they pull it?

It must be gone because I don't see any of that in your link.

You better watch it, fellas or Goff is gonna storm back up here and educate all you non-believers on why you best believe LeBron Damn James is a really good basketball player and will score a lot of points on most nights. And that he and Wade are coming to the Bulls.
