Why are they sitting Yadi?

He's started every game this year...gotta give him a day off every now and then.

I have the utmost respect for him as a player, even though I hate the bastage!!

why is Ryan Braun playing on Passover? I'm not familiar with Tribe rules on such matters

Didn't get to watch, but it sounds like Lance Lynn had one of those outings that makes everyone forget how much he can suck sometimes...

Ummmm....he had it all working last night. All you could do was tip your cap.

Or make fun of his extremely effeminate name, but a tip of the cap is nice too.

And yet... his first name is very Pornstache-like. It's a metaphor for LL the pitcher-- he seems to vacillate between extremes, and you never know which side of the coin is going to show up.

I'll buy into Lynn as a 2-3 type when he gets his platoon split more normalized... it appears the Brewer lineup is very RH-heavy with only Ryan Joseph Gennett (i refuse to address a grown man as Scooter) hitting from the left side.

Either Lynn is going to have to get a hell of a lot better or every arm on the roster whose last name doesn't start with a W is going to have to completely shit the bed for him to be a 2nd or 3rd starter on this team.

I didn't mean on this team... on this team a 2-3 type is the 4 or 5

Shelby appears to be just slinging it up there, with no idea where it's going. Fortunately, neither do the Brewers.

Neshek is in the game.

Fortunately, I'm well stocked up on antacid.

Seems to be why they were willing to trade him in the offseason for Tulo

Who wouldn't you trade for Tulo? Especially if you were looking at Pete Kozma...

I don't share in your enthusiasm for getting Tulo...but the Pete Kozma part, that was hilarious...if this was a video game and you tried trading Kozma to a computer controlled team, I'm pretty sure it would brick the system on the spot.

Eckstein
Izturis
Ryan
Theriot
Furcal
Kozma

Pheralta is no world beater, but the SS position since Ozzie and Renteria has been a parade of suck.

I'm guessing you have Furcal on there because he was injury prone?

How many WS did they win (or even go to) with Renteria?

They didn't win any with him...went to one...

...but he has been far and away the best SS they've had since Ozzie.

The point is, the SS doesn't mean shit. All the Cards need is someone who can catch the ball.

And while Renteria is a two time WS champion, I don't believe he ever went to the WS with the Cardinals.

It's means something when that spot in the lineup is pretty much a second pitcher spot, which it felt like whenever Kozma was starting at short last year.

And again, Renteria went to a WS with the Cardinals. 2004. I remember it quite vividly. He made the last out in the series.

I forgot about 2004.

It's not like Eckstein and Theriot were some great hitters.

You could say that... mainly i just listed off the top of my head the regular guy in the order of their "tenure".. I can't recall with any of them a line of thinking that suggested "Hey, we got the SS position solved!" Furcal was hurty, Ryan was like Kozma: the Prequel, Eck had his moments but had absolutely no range, Theriot was just bad at all phases of the game. Izturis was pretty slick with glove, but guys like Aaron Miles and Felipe Lopez were stealing AB from him, that's how worthless he was at the plate.

They aren't. Eckstein had the "grit" factor and the fans loved him because he was a slow white midget "try hard" kinda guy. Eck could also annoy opposing teams on the basepaths, and was pretty steady in the field despite the lack of range. Theriot had no redeeming qualities. On top of everything else, he was one of the stupidest baserunning SS i've personally ever seen, with multiple TOOTBLANs
