Six years from now when he's eligible I wouldn't be surprised at all if he got a 10 year/$500M contract if he's still this good.

They will start to come back once enough parents stop allowing them to kill themselves playing football.

And the NBA folds because of their terrible cap system which creates a bunch of loser teams perenially stuck as losers.

 No. It's a lot easier for a losing team to turn it around in the NBA than MLB. The NBA is doing fine.

Adam Silver is going to be a great Commish. A year from now there wont be any question who is the best commissioner in sports is.

The bar isn't very high. Every other commissioner is terrible. Silver is already making the league officiating memos public and more transparent and already looking into reforming the lottery system to try to prevent tanking, which is always going to be a problem in a league where one guy has so much impact. Those were two of the biggest criticisms of Stern. Even Cuban likes him. The NBA is in good hands.

And what does David Silver intend to do to address the HUGE lead MLB has accrued in the 55-75 year old female demographic?

The way Trout routinely turns should-be singles into doubles is amazing. It's his blistering speed which is a major advantage over Harper.

Trout .949
Harper .934

Harper went 13 for 25 this week and Trout came back to earth a bit last week

I'm going to climb out on a limb and say Harper can't keep up the 13 for 25 pace.

Of course not, but he doesnt have to. He's erased the slow start and is batting .358

Harper seems like he might end up being one of the extremely streaky guys (kinda like Soriano and Sosa) and Trout seems more consistently great (Hybrid of Pujols and Roberto Alomar)

Anyway, health will probably determine the final comparison eventually

I dont mind it, but its weird he picked Harper to make an example of (although he was probably going for the "anyone and everyone" thing) who hustles as much as anyone. I mean it was a grounder to the pitcher.

BTW, Hawk and Stone were talking about that and Hawk said "one play that can define an entire organization's philosophy...run hard to first" but then he didnt mention Joe Maddon who popularized that exact thing in recent years. Hopefully he just forgot.

I don't think it's weird he picked him. I guess they had had the conversation before. And it makes sense to single out the best player... because it is a good lesson to the rest of the guys.

That said, it's completely and utterly moronic that he took him out when the game when Bryce would have had a chance to win the game. Idiotic.

Also, this is a separate issue, but Matt Willams is a partially admitted PED user (didnt admit all his use). Its gonna be really hard to take this "play the game the right way" stuff from cheaters like that.

Harper should have said "Well maybe if I had some greenies and steroids Id have more energy, ay skip?"
