Was surprised when I went here this week. Big selection and food was good.

Would recommend if you are in the Mannheim/Oakton area

Its in the downtown Desplaines area. Problem with most if not all Chinese buffets is all the food taste the same (oily, soy sauce laiden, and low quality)... I would only go to a Chinese food buffet if you haven't eaten for a while or are coming off a detox diet and want to gorge yourself. That being said in my opinion the best Chinese buffet I have tried in IL area is Royal Buffet in Hoffman Estates / Schaumburg area.. which more like the buffets you see in Vegas than Chicago.

The Royal Buffet is great, but everytime I am in that area I go to Yu's which is kiddy corner across the street behind Outback.

Yu's is very good as well as Chef Ping's in the general vicinity as well... The owner of Chef Ping was the original owner of Yu's Mandarin and so the menu items @ Ping's of noodle dishes are very similiar to Yu's.

There's a chinese buffet across the street from my condo at Addison and Elston. The place is always chock full of Mexicans. Went there once and it was about as disgusting as you would imagine. Actually it was more disgusting than you would imagine.

Update: I took Mrs. Scorehead to the Royal Buffet in Schaumburg at Golf & Roselle road & it sucked. Stay away.
