he has closed before (Ok it was a fire) and he will reopen again. Maybe.

Its the Shakey Sumptress of Hot Dogs. By default, they are the best.

Part of going for a hot dog is being to get the hot dog and eat it, in a timely manner. The fact i need to wait 30 minutes just to get to the front and see Doug to place my order drops Hot Dougs down a few notches in my book.

You can keep your Thurs/Fri Duck Fat Fries.

Give me the Weiner Circle for a dog in 30 seconds thats just as good, plus I get to be called A Tall Ass Mother Fucker and then get screamed at to give more of a tip! :D

Yep. Im not standing in a fucking 50 deep line to get a hot dog that isn't appreciably better than any other of the dozen chains we have to choose from. Fuck off and drown in duck fat, Doug.

I'd rather have a jumbo hot dog from Portillo's. I don't need foie gras duck fat and tomato basil with sprinkled yak on my fries/hot dog.

I am a long time Doug guy, he is a Sarkis disciple so I am not breaking bad on Doug, just hate the line.

“I’m not burnt out. I also don’t want to be burnt out. It’s just time,” Sohn told the Tribune.

This line of thinking turned out great for Chuck Trotter.

Well, that's true and i think there is something to it. when all you know is one thing and it goes away, you better have something ready to go. No matter what it is. Surfing, hunting, knitting, selling insurance, just better have something ready to do.

Not really a Chicago hot dog though, jimmy. No tomatoes or pickle.

One thing that got lost in the shuffle was that Genes sausage shop was the best around. Better rolls and condiments for the sausage.

I think the appeal of Doug is that he's very personable, which is not seen in fast food, especially at a hot dog joint. Like I've probably mentioned a few times on here (spanky), the place was always packed yet every time I came in he knew my name and my favorite order.
