That's not really a joke. I have several friends that don't get any pussy because they only want a beautiful woman between the ages of 18-24. I told one guy he should just fuck his own age like everyone else except George Clooney does. My wife's best friend and this guy are both always complaining about not having anyone. The two of them would be perfect for each other. They're both right wing morons who watch too much Fox, they both like to smoke weed, the both think that 1950s America was the height of civilization. But neither one of them is good-looking enough for the other.

My buddy STU, who is still trying to be an actor was on 20/20 with Baba Wawa and they had 5 guys be ranked by 10 girls, on a 1-10 scale, if they would date them.

Stu is about 4'9" 130 pounds, big nose, kinda elfish looking.

In group 1 of the women, Stu was said to be a venture capitalist, who owns 5 businesses and has a house in Malibu, NYC and Aspen. Single, etc. He got grades from 5-10

In group 2 of the women, Stu was real, he is a struggling actor and waits tables. Stu didnt get a rating over 4.

*Sidenote, Stu has done a few bits on Mancows show, you may remember his best for when he was the guy who followed people into portapotties at taste of chicago looking for big terds to take home and eat. Hopefully that also tells you something about Mancows Showgram.

Do most people marry outside of their class though? I would suspect no. I don't think people expect to either.

Beautiful women (like top 2%) pretty much write their own ticket in that regard

Thanks, I'll let him know you said that, he'll be thrilled. He's gotten better looking as he has aged. I was real into looks when I was younger. People don't think we go together well and we are often asked why or how are we a couple. I say because we both love me.

When my mother met my first wife (who she hated) she said, "I think that girl may be out of your league." She was pretty good looking, but more than that, she was really North Shore with her country club manners, etc. I was incredulous. I said, "Ma, you always told me I was as good as anybody and I could be whatever I wanted to be. You told me I could be the president!" My mom rolled her eyes and said, "And you believed me?"

It actually happens a pretty decent amount, but it is more about putting yourself in situations where you can find current or future high income earners(or become one yourself). College is a pretty good equalizer in this regard. Choosing a profession in the medical or legal field helps if you can't find a sugar daddy or sugar momma in those 4.5 years.

There was a recent article (in the WSJ I think) arguing that much, if not most, of the recent increase in income inequality is due to more couples marrying within the same class (and with more women working, two-income households will by definition outpace other demographics). That's a tough thing to try to correct with governmental solutions.

Sounds like it is time for the Affordable Plastic Surgery Act.

That's my point, Rick. There is some diversity on college campuses but in my experience you hang with people similar to you. Engineers meet other engineers, drs meet other drs, teachers meet other teachers. When you get out into the workforce you typically date who you are in contact with or your peers. Maybe a level up or down but there isn't a lot of mobility.

Ha that's awesome and a good mom. My parents told my husband he was a really good guy and I was a lot to deal with and asked if he was sure he wanted to marry me because they had a strict no return policy.

I guess I had a different experience. Then again, my major was like 90% men so looking for love in those classes was 90% illegal in Indiana. Bars, parties, electives, and other clubs seemed to be a wide mix of people.

It wouldn't have been difficult to find a man with significant future earning potential given the student population there.

I guess they didn't feel confident declaring "you break it, you buy it" so late in the game

Depends on what you mean by 'league'
Here's what the research says:
when everything else is taken out of the situation (in other words, one night stands or short-term mating situations in general) people tend to 'match' in attractiveness (8s with 8s, 3s with 3s, etc...). However in long-term mating situations there are other factors and it's amazing to see for men how things like having money in the bank or show the POTENTIAL to eventually have money in the bank helps (like being in med school or law school, etc)
A male 3 who has money becomes a 7 and if he has a shit load, he becomes a 9
A male 3 who is in medschool/law school become an 8!

It is REAL interesting to see with women and age/intelligence, as it has the opposite reaction,
I remember I was at a talk (in a room filled with women who have or are working towards PhDs) being told that having a phd takes as much as 3 points off their attractiveness (8s become 5s). That research had balls and I was surprised he made it out of the room alive.

This is fun, I am actually teaching my Evolutionary psychology course this summer and I'm going through the material now and setting up the course so it's like I've taken a break from that...to discuss it.
