I tuned in about 12:15 or so to hear Joe Ostrowski and Adam Hoge talking about the NFL draft. Neither of them seem to know much about the recent Bears' draft picks, which I guess I can understand on the part of Ostrowski but was surprised Hoge didn't seem to know anything about them since he's trumpeted as an NFL Expert and Draftnick. They were mainly reading verbatim from multiple draft guides which, as a listener, does about as much for me as Bernstein reading a two-page long WYC? email.

Hoge said that he's shocked that the Bears have not drafted a safety since they need so much help at that position. He then says that they way in which they have shored up the defensive line, much like they way they remade the offensive line last year, will take a lot of pressure off of the safety position and make it less of a need. So they really need help there...but they don't.

Hoge's voice, btw, tends to dip into a creaky, whiny tone. I've had really only heard him as a guest on other shows, but hearing him long form this afternoon made me realize that he is much less articulate than I originally thought him to be.

Yeah, I laughed when Hog said he had seen Vereen play a lot since he's in the Big Ten, but instead of giving his own opinion he had to read from the book of that racist goof that bernstein defended.

Who's your guy?

"Hmmmmmmm round 5 or 6"
"Nice job, close 4th or 5th round"

 yeah.

And at one point drafting David Fales came up and they completely dismissed it as if he is too far down the list to be drafted.

Then a little while later Emery takes him.

oops

One of the times I tuned in they were taking shots at Kiper and Gruden, and while Lord knows those guys are easy targets, AT LEAST when they go to them for an opinion about a player they actually have one and don't start flipping through, and reading from, a draft guide.
