I'm one step closer to jumping off of the Phil Emery bandwagon.

Emery will be there to reach for ya and pull you back.

Why is Nix falling? Some thought he was a first round guy or the first pick in the 2nd????

Worst draft in 30 years I don't see any # 1's in the league after 4 years

Jimmy Garoppolo is the heir apparent to Tom Brady. Getting drafted by New England has to be pretty sweet.

Dolphins trade up here. Looking at Nix?

Surely he goes somewhere here at the top of 3

Texans got Nix at Nose and Watt and Clowney off the edge.

That could be a devastating line

Love Murray going to KC. He will be the starter there in a couple years

Aaron Murray is my guy. Chiefs got great value with him Accuracy is more important than arm strength and Murray is as accurate as they come.

i like what the saints have done. shore up the defense and get a hot pick and another weapon for brees in the first round. he doesn't even have to work out for the saints to have a good offense...

i'm surprised no one's taken a chance on mettenberger yet...wonder if he'll go undrafted.

That might be the single dumbest pick of the entire draft.

Their Super Bowl window is still open and they blew a premium pick on a guy who won't start until after said window has slammed shut, and who offers no surplus value as a special teamer or gadget player in the meantime.

Yeah, but Brady is no spring chicken. Your window is still fine and they had a pretty solid draft, so if you see a guy there that you believe can be Brady's replacement why not roll the dice?

Trying to be completely objective here.

I am not sure how anyone can look at the Packer draft this year and grade them the highest of all teams in the NFL.

That Brady isn't a spring chicken is entirely my point. I think the window slams shut the second he retires or suffers a serious injury, so you have to be going for it basically every year. (Incidentally, this is why I never understood the media tonguing Belichick's sack for trading down every year; how much different would the last few seasons have looked if he'd cashed in those picks for Eric Berry or Julio Jones or Von Miller?) For that team at this time, picking a QB feels like a throwaway to me, and I don't think you can afford to throw away a 2nd-rounder when your current QB is going to be 37 by the time we start the preseason.

My thought is your window is still open no matter who they select in 2nd round this year. So if you have an opportunity to get a QB you are really high on and see as the next guy then why not do it?

It's just a question of value. I have no problem with the Texans or Raiders or Titans taking Garoppolo, because they're all rebuilding to one degree or another, and none of them has a QB. The Pats have a 37-year-old Hall of Fame QB who's been propping up a shitty defense for half his career. This isn't the time to be flushing a 2 after a guy who'll help you in 2019.

Not to mention he probably sucks and he was drafted to replace a hall of famer. No pressure there.
