The more I think about what Steve Stone says with the 4 man rotation , I like it. Most of the arm-elbow injuries happening are guys who were absolutely babied n pampered .

The pitch count era isn't working out too well.

My opinion is the stuff that Doc said the other day. Not pitch counts but playing all year round and max throwing. Kids now are playing fall baseball not football and camps training not basketball. Parents are fucking these kids arms up and it is showing early.

You could probably graph this generation of younger tommy john guys to all this year round and traveling teams and specialized camps/training.

So it can be traced back to guys like Justin Stone? Well isn't that ironic.

I heard a baseball old timer, can't remember who, saying the problem is that young kids are throwing way too many curves and off speed stuff.

Not allowing Kids to throw breaking balls until they reach high school would be a good place to start. Raising the mound is something else that could be done.

I see the point of raising the mound for pitcher advantage. It does not solve the problem of trying to breed millionaires. Parents will still be having their kids try to throw 100MPH off higher mound as much as possible to get that break.

Well if the mound were higher they won't have to try as hard to throw 100.

If they throw 105 it would be worth the risk.

I thought there was a TJ thread but I couldn't find it (though I didn't look too hard) so I'll post this here.

LHP Jonny Venters has been diagnosed with a re-tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow following an MRI. Venters is rehabbing from the second Tommy John surgery of his career and could possibly have a third surgery.

Hang it up, Man. An arm can only take so much.
