All this junkfood and twin baby girls? At this rate you'll be lucky to make it to 2015.

The talk of Tenuta's in the mustard thread got me thinking and after running an errand during lunch I
stopped in. They have a full service grill going outside attached to the store during the summer. Had
a grilled sausage and spinach panini. Delicious!

Strawberry is the preferred jelly. The other flavors slot below.

Just left Yu's Mandarin. I should have my own parking space here.

Only place worse in the NW suburbs is Wonton Gourmet.

I worry that fans of the place have never had real, authentic chinese food. It bothers me.

This makes me laugh as the people I work with that have been to China usually come back much lighter
and very hungry. Stories of getting to pick your own live frogs and snakes out of large terrariums before
they are prepared for your dinner were just a few of the highlights.

As with all ethnic foods, it isn't for everyone.

MingHin Cuisine in Chinatown is good.

Not all of us are as lucky as Schaumburg, and have a Panda Express right down the street.

I live in Arlington Heights!

And that shitty Yu's Mandarin is in Schaumburg.

And Yu's Mandarin is still multiple times better than Panda Express.

Yu's is better than most high end Chinese restaurants. They don't buy anything that is premade. Everything is homemade including their noodles...& the place is always loaded with Asians.

Have you been to China & seen what they eat? No thanks.

Anime conventions are loaded with Asians. Doesn't mean I want to be there.

Breaking news: I just read that the Naf Naf in downtown Naperville has a beef schwarma --- I will be checking this out before the end of the week.

Naf Naf! I believe the new downtown one is one of the quick service ones rather than full menu, but still good.

Get your food, and walk across the parking lot to World of Beer. They don't serve food, but allow you to order/bring in your own.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with the allure of Yu's. It's like the Portillos of Chinese food. You don't know what the big deal is, but you go there every once in a while because you forgot it wasn't that good.

Best Chinese places are still Katy's Dumplings on Ogden in Downer's Grove, Joy Yee's Noodles in several spots and Bin Hai (how long?) in Northbrook.

Dammit, now I have a taste for Chinese.

World of Beer, Two Brothers Tap House, you hit up all of my haunts. I'm sure you've stopped by Bavarian Lodge too.

And you know this, man.

I was there for a Founders takeover, and a Goose Island Bourbon County takeover. Both were glorious!

Made some Carolina style pulled pork over the weekend. 3.5 lb pork shoulder and a couple of cups of
apple vinegar in the crock pot for 12 hours. Turned out pretty good after I spiced it up some. Leftovers
for a few days.
