Talbot in for Lundqvist. Rangers been gooning it up all game. Car Crash Carcillo already serving 10 games. Maybe the Rangers will lose another player to suspension before the Finals. Would much rather Habs than the Rangers in the SCF.

4-4, now--what was Tokarski doing that far out of the goal? Rangers could've walked that last goal into the net with the Habs goaltender that far out of goal.

Neither of these teams look all that great, wondered how they managed to get here instead of the Bruins, Price took out the Bruins:

John Moore blindsides a puck-less Weis. Gives Habs a 5 minute PP, gets a game misconduct and likely will be joining Car Crash for a couple games.

If Rangers could somehow win tonight, they'd not have Carcillo at all during the Finals and be without Moore for at least 2 or 3 games.

Moore suspended 2 games. Guess he's a local guy, New Trier.

Illinois hockey still isn't what it ought to be. California has to be producing more NHLers than we are at this point. We'll never get to the Minnesota/Michigan/Mass/NY State tier of hockey production, but I'd like to think that one day we can be right up there with, I dunno, Connecticut.

Illinois has fallen off over the last decade or so. The resurgent Blackhawks should help.

Minnesota/Michigan/New York (upstate) all have proximity to Canada and long-time access to free over-the-air CBC broadcasts, what's up with Mass/Conn? Whalers and Bruins, and proximity to the NY franchises?

New England has always had a solid hockey culture, I think. Lots of ponds, schools, bored white people.

From my experience...most people keep their kids in seasonal sports. Our program doesn't play all year round. I don't know if that is common or not.

Rangers/Habs has been an amazing game so far. Tokarski is playing great.

Dammit rangers score 1-0. Montreal has been hanging on for dear life and finally paid for it.

So Car Crash is done for the season (still has 8 games to go, I think, on his suspension) and John Moore's out for game 1 of SCF.

Carcillo has an appeal hearing/meeting with Bettman tomorrow:

It should go "no, you're Dan Carcillo, the end," but Raffi Torres of all people got a suspension shortened for no reason (other than playing for the league-owned team that the league was trying to sell without relocating).

Sure enough, knocked down to six games. Didn't want that suspension carrying over too deep into next season.
