Go back and check baseball reference. He has never had a .755 OPS this season. He was in the .830's in OPS the day you posted that.

Linked is a running total of his OPS, from game to game.

You got your shit wrong and ran with it...and no one fact checked until now. It's cool.

Outside of all the numbers, this kid is showing he could be a GREAT hitter.

I think he is now 9th in the NL in OBP and the only LHB in the top 10 is what JD said today (Hope he was right)

As far adapting to pitches, choking up, patience, going the other way, hitting lefties and power he has shown himself to be BETTER than Abreu so far. This was Stones issue, that Rizzo couldnt do all these things, because he saw ONE AT BAT of Rizzos during the spring where he didnt choke up on strike 2.

Abreu has been awesome and he might have a quicker bat with more power, but as far as all areas of hitting Stone has been wrong to date about Abreu being better and 100% about the FAR SUPERIOR comment.

Rizzo has brought an excellent approach to his at bats and even if you wear your Sox hat to everyone possible place that will allow it, or you have a Sox flag in the front of your yard on a flag pole, you just cant tell me that Abreu is FAR SUPERIOR without lieing.

I don't mean to troll the Cub fans but how long until you all say Rizzo is here and this is what he will be? He has a large amount of major league at bats. It just seems weird he is Theo and/or Jed's pet.

Yes but some seem to think there is some development to yet occur? Some improvement? He is what he is? NO?

You are seeing it day to day.

Last season was his first full season and he has shown a totally different approach this year. The patience of making people through him pitches and his ability to hit lefties are 2 major improvements.

You act like he has been playing for 5 years, has 2500 AB and has shown no improvement? Oh wait, thats beckham.

This based on Stone seeing that Abreu ALREADY UNDERSTANDS HE NEEDS TO SHORTEN HIS SWING WITH 2 STRIKES and Rizzo has one swing and it's a homerun.

Kirkwood has taken Cubbie sensitivity to new heights this year.

I liked it better when he complained about Sox fans being obsessed with the Cubs. Now, he's raising the game on crosstown obsession.

Rizzo with a .6 lead over Abreu in WAR, and only .1 off the lead in all of baseball. Pretty fantastic.

So it seems like the problem with Stone's prediction was that he didn't see the massive improvement in Rizzo's numbers. I doubt many did.

Actually, PECOTA projected Rizzo to have the single largest improvement of any player in MLB in a number of categories.

So, to claim that just tells me you and Stone didnt do your homework. The difference of course is that Stone is often wrong, when he actually admits to saying something, and BRick is never wrong.

I will agree that castro is what you will always see, which is still good. there will be some improvement over the next few years, but the same improvement you would see from any player that becomes naturally stronger and sees more pitchers.

Castro is Will Cordero, wihout the convictions.

Castro should be a 6th-7th batter on a very good team.

Feel free to bump a post of yours where you predict what Rizzo is doing.

Oh, it sounds so much better to play the "BRick is never wrong" card instead because you are well known for admitting when you are incorrect.

The statement was that PECOTA projected Rizzo to have the single biggest WAR improvement in baseball.

All I stated and wanted was constant improvement instead of last years second half constant decline from .270's to .230

To say that "Nobody" projected Rizzo to be better is awfully tough when the most widely accepted stat for potential improvement predicted it.

Here is the Rizzo prediction for this year from PECOTA.

1B Anthony Rizzo 631 28 91 .258 .332 .472 2.9

It also should be pointed out that Rizzo is far exceeding these projections. So, even PECOTA didn't predict him to be this good this season.

If you want to go the Steve Stone route of needing to reply to exactly what he said or you said, thats fine.

But you stated

I doubt many did.

I then said you, yes, Brick was wrong as PECOTA projected not only an improvement, but the single biggest WAR improvement of any player in MLB.

Now if you feel that PECOTA projections are an unknown stat that "MANY" are not aware of, I will then say you are correct.

Of course you didnt say "NOBODY DIDNT" you said "MANY DIDNT"

My court reporter was sleeping during that last moment you typed.

Nobody thought Rizzo would be doing this well, including PECOTA. How is that difficult to understand?
