dolphin stating that Rizzo would likely regress to his career norms is not disparaging. Try again.

If those career norms are considered "being of little worth", which is exactly what he intended, it sure would be disparaging.

The adjectives in good dolphin's post were certainly not positive.

You think before this year that Rizzo was of little worth?

Damn. That is cold.

You know what IS disparaging? Predicting a player will fall out of MLB and have to go to Japan. I wonder who did that?

I really meant "little worth to any team but the shitshow Cubs and their cult of personality believing fans"

I think the last five years of Beckham performances were all a mirage and am going to hang my hopes on the latest 150 AB.

This actually tightened up even quicker than I anticipated. Maybe they both continue being awesome and this remains a very fun comparison thread through the season.
Well, that didn't last long.

Rizzo is a good sport ... he didn't feel comfortable vaulting over Abreu so quickly. Slow and steady.

Not at all

June 14th UPDATE
#1 Miggy 2.5 WAR
#2 Rizzo 2.4
#3 Goldschmidt 2.3
#4 Moss 2.2
#5 appropriately E5 Encarcion 2.1
#6 Abreau 1.5

Obviously Abreau is FAR SUPERIOR to #16 Lucas Duda at .5

Outside of the numbers, just watching Rizzo take at bats is enough for me to declare Stone not only 100% wrong, but a 'Bonejag'* in the process for almost projecting a guys entire career based on 1 at bat he saw in spring training and using for the basis of his "Baseball Insider" analysis!

*BONEJAG term used with approval from Mac and Spiegs show.

Please make a point here. Posting a random statistic is easy.

It's a misleading stat becuase Abreu was hurt and WAR is a cummalitve stat and also there is only one A in Abreu.

My Cuban spelling isn't what it used to be my Cuban native Spanish teacher at Loyola Academy Jose would not be happy........

OK so take the injury out and look at slash lines

Rizzo .282/.406/.509
Abreu .268/.320/.603

is either FAR superior???

and how about the other tools like speed, arm and glove..
the point is using WAR they are both solid above average players and neither is FAR better than the other...
even if one is 24 and the other is 27(?) and let's not even get into the debate that players keep getting better up to about age 27 and then peak to about 30 before starting to decline

So your point as of now is that neither is far superior to the other? Compelling argument there.

Im just saying the WAR is not a great way to judge it. And WAR is fucked up by Defense. oWAR is better.

If that is your only point, I don't see anyone arguing otherwise.

We'll see at the end of the year but for now you are fighting against an army of 0.

Beautiful at bat there by Rizzo.

Got behind in the count. Battled back. Fought off a couple tough pitches.

Then went opposite field HR on a pretty good pitch by Simon.
