Mexico and Cameroon right now and it's raining. Sombreros and fake moustaches abound.

I'm not a fan of national anthems in general but I have to say most other countries have terrible anthems when compared to USA! USA! USA!

I don't get that offsides call. Do they want Little Village to burn?

BTW, good call. And I'm using this thread to help follow the games.

Looks good, but it the rain is very heavy. The pitch will be tore up pretty bad by the end of this game.

Should probably be 2-1 at the half. Mexico got screwed twice and Cameroon probably should have had a PK.

This is great. Hope Spain implodes like France did in 2010.

welp spain got got. holy shit that was a proper meltdown.... sergio ramos specifically had a horrible game, as he went to sleep and let rvp do that crazy 17 foot header which hearkens this image here:

Image

and then he and pique got got bigtime by arjen robben masterfully bringing the ball down and then juking the shit out of both of them to the tune of pique undoubtedly thinking "....at least i get to go home to shakira"

and then now-no-doubt-arsenal-signing iker casillas has an adventure that allows RvP to net another (and he hit crossbar earlier so he was that close to a hat trick) and then... that run by robben. holy shit that was some world class stuff. i think the netherlands is going to have to rename the game to "footbaal" in order to give louis van gaal the credit he deserves for tonight's game.... and lord knows that louis knows he deserves it =D

ah well, that was just a warmup for the socceroos. who's ready to put some chile on the barbie?

van Persie better make ESPN top 10 plays of the month -- that was incredible.

I'm so excited...Decided to make the jump to HD (Yeah, I know, get into the 21st century) I got the DIRECTV guy coming to install it today. Should have it hooked up by the time England-Italy kickoff later today.

Can't wait for August and the Premier League on NBCSN.
