He has decided to retire. This is a very sad day for BR.

My guy! Going out on his terms with millions in the bank! Now he can start his political career.

The Cowboys want that too.

He's going to have to pay them $3 million if he retires this year unless they cut him.

Yup, which is why he probably ends up coming back.

He has to pay back half his signing bonus. That's $3 million.

This could very well be a way to avoid minicamp for his last year.

It's still a $6 million swing total for him which probably makes it worth holding a clipboard and then being bad. If he was smart, he'd get fat like Jay Ratliff.

Maybe something is wrong but I would not have given Orton a $6 million signing bonus.

This looks like a man who wants heroin and meth to be legal.

At the time, he was at least starter quality, and Romo was often injured so they paid him to be relegated to a backup rather than competing for a starting job somewhere else. Romo didn't get hurt and now Orton wants to start his run for Congress.

Welcome back Kyle Orton! I hope retirement treated you well.

This puts him near the top of the discussion for greatest backups in NFL history.
