Matt and Matt, The Two Matts....partners in life, radio and love. This two dudes hate each others guts and it's evident at times. 'Twas a decent show, yesterday. More sports oriented with some off-tracking but that was fun and confined. The hate and bile seeped through at times but they kept a lid on it and actually showed that they can work together and put out a good product.

SHOW:
HEAT
LeBRON
Bulls future?
Bears?
Sox?
Cubs?

I don't know, these times are tumultuous...on the radio and especially on this here board. Be careful out there, folks, there are plans in motion and gears turning. When it comes to pass you must muster your strength and fight.

Regards,

SomeGuy

Might as well change the name because there will never be another Mac/Meat show.

Canned by the Score? Mmmm....that didn't happen. Canned in Atlanta, yes.

I don't believe the offense was so egregious that he wouldn't be hired back by the Score...

I am enjoying the Gwynn stuff. He was always one of my favorite non-Cub players. I had a lot of respect for his hitting ability. I have his Topps rookie card, one of my gems.

What exactly did Goff do to get canned in Atlanta?

From what I've read, he may have talked up a non-sponsor a little too much. Some salsa, if I'm not mistaken. Could have been a competitor of a sponsor or something. Didn't seem like a huge deal. But he was doing a show at one of the lowest rated times of the day in radio. And the station was getting shit ratings anyway, so...

I wonder if he thought there was a racial component to all that.

He handed out Christmas cards with a picture of himself on them at the station, which is fine; but his nipple was showing.

Somehow they scored a long-form interview with Epstein and I heard the entire thing--I'm sure like everyone else--while stuck in the car. The two most painful moments, among many, were: 1) Spiegel trying to get Epstein to say that Tony Gwynn, a first-ballot hall of famer by far, legend in his own time, and universally adored human being, was overrated because BA means nothing anymore, even though his OBP was like .400 lifetime. Greg Fucking Maddux stated unequivocally--for years--that Gwynn was the toughest hitter he ever faced. Thankfully, Theo was all "I'm not gonna break a guy's stats down the day after he died."

2) anytime Drinky opens his mouth. Yikes. Why is it that when these nitwits get a GM on the phone they think they're Katie Couric interviewing the President once each term. Epstein strikes me as a thoughtful guy who is as much of a straight-shooter as one can be in his position. And yet they just waste the opportunity and give him nothing to work with. Blech. Fuck these losers.

Spiegs never has anything to offer in interviews. He just re-words and repeats the questions his partner asks or misspeaks and then tries to defend that stance the rest of the time.

And by the way, the moments leading up to the Epstein interview were consumed by a cookie tasting. If it wasn't so much effort I would have thrown myself from my own moving car.

Them talking about Theo after Theo was done and off the line was....uh, interesting.

Meat : "oh, man, just some many tantalizing baseball things whenever he talks, you can just pick through it for hours..."

Matty: "I know, he knows tons of stuff and he's only 40 years old! He's already an old crusty baseball guy and he's so young!"

Theo's was was just dripping from their faces. Caked on there nice and good. Going to have to chisel it off.
