I don't think you're bidding against yourself.

GS is crazy stupid to not include Klay in a trade for Love and Kevin Martin.

Martin is nearing the end. Not worth it even beside Love.

I'm not gutting my team for a guy that never made the playoffs and has never won anything in his life. Lebron is the only player you do that for.

In any case, I'm not believing any rumor unless the Tribune retweets something Wojnawarski reported.

You say that about every player over 28. Martin outperformed Klay last year.

Don't be silly. You're not gutting your team. You're pairing up a top 3 PF and a top 3 PG. You're also getting an SG back who played better than Klay last year.

:lol: :lol: Close, but I start to discrimihate around 31-32. Clearly Klay has a longer time left in this league than Martin. Adding Thompson on top of Lee, picks, whatever else they offered is a lot. I'd probably still do it, but I'd want a bit more in addition to Martin because I know he will only have 1-2 years left, best case, at the level he played at in the past few years.

Beyond shooting the 3 do we really know how much better Love is than Taj? I would like to see Taj as the starter for a full season. I believe he could be a 17 and 11 guy and possibly an all star. I know Taj is a guy you can win a championship with. At $8M he's a bargain.

Why the change of heart on Love, Nas? A few months ago you loved him and I was the guy reminding everyone who loved him and hated Melo that he has never made the playoffs. Looks like we changed sides.

But yes, we know he is a significantly better player than Taj, all things considered.

I hate to speak for Nas but we love Taj especially at the price. So when he wasn't hurt Love did 26 or so a game. Does he really do that for Bulls? I would think with Rose and Noah feeding him yes.

Just been thinking about it a lot over the past few days and crunching the numbers. I don't think he is that much better and we all see he isn't a winner. I would not want to give that guy $100M+ over 5 years. I think Taj playing starter minutes can give you 85% of his production at nearly 1/3 of what it will cost after next season. We know Taj is championship ready and will leave everything he has on the court just like Noah. I'm concerned about his shoulder but now I would only want Melo if I couldn't get LeBron.

I don't think many players are likely to win when David Kahn is your GM, as was the case with Love for some time. The scoring is worth it with Love, and you hope Thibs' influence can make up for losing Taj's defense.

Will he have the intangibles? With Melo and Rose the scoring production Taj can provide will be more than enough. Butler's shot has to get better too.

I don't think. Essentially I think Love's "star" status is merited, and that he's clearly a more valuable asset than Taj. If you have a chance to get someone like him at a good price, you say goodbye to Taj, imo.

Also, I wonder how much of our Taj love is simply the product of the "Boozer effect," whereby Boozer's average to substandard play is so irritating that it makes his backups look better than they actually are. This happened in Utah to Milsap, and I wonder if it's colored our perception of Taj, too. Not to say Taj sucks, but maybe we look at Taj differently is there is no Boozer to compare him against.

If I were the Bulls I wouldn't move much beyond the reported offer.

It's possible but I loved Taj as a rookie. He had those championship intangibles then. I don't know if Love has those and I wouldn't want the Bulls to take a $100M gamble and he ends up being Boozer with better range.

Ouch. That would suck. Too be honest I haven't followed Love all that closely. Perhaps a closer, sesemed observer has something to say...?

He's missed almost 2 seasons over the past 4 years with various injuries too. Considering that he takes more shots than Derrick Rose took and nearly as many as Carmelo I can't see how everyone will be happy if the 3 of them are on the same team. There isn't enough shots to go around. Combined they shoot the ball 58 times a game. Last year the Bulls averaged 80 shots a game and Minnesota led the league with 87.5. I know 20 to 30 shots a game won't be enough for everyone else.

I'm not too concerned with the shots thing. To me that sort of conflict is more likely to occur if the coach fails to install a sense of order and things like that. Personal.conflicts and the like thrive in environments overseen by bad coaches. In the end I don't believe Melo or Love come here. We will end up celebrating the acquisition of Hamilton 2.0 and hope guys set really good screens or something for all our jump shooters.

Melo sounded genuinely concerned about uprooting his family but it is my belief that after he researches the school systems he will be okay with making the transition. Especially if he doesn't have to lose almost $50M. If not I would be okay with Afflalo and Mirotic.

Woj tweeting that Cavs tried to acquire Love for the no 1 pick and more. I wonder where the Bulls are in on this since the draft is tomorrow. All I've been reading is about the players they plan to draft instead of trade packages including the picks.

That would be a great move for the Cavs. Love, Lebron, Irving = Champs

The tweet said Love basically will refuse to resign with them. I see you're taking this purge thing seriously though :lol:

Don't be silly. You're not gutting your team. You're pairing up a top 3 PF and a top 3 PG. You're also getting an SG back who played better than Klay last year.

Do you really consider Rose a top 3 point guard right now? I'm not saying he absolutely can't be again, but I won't be shocked if he's just an ordinary guy when he comes back.

I think he will be ordinary initially. Bringing in another star will allow him to ease his way back in.

Well, I mean...I really want Love, but we all know I'm with you on Melo.

I would like Deng back at a reasonable number.

And I would definitely like Stephenson as the starting two guard.

Rose
Stephenson
Deng
Love
Noah

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO POST VIDEOS TO FACEBOOK

This proposed roster has all the makings of a championship contender. How did Paxson ever miss on putting this hookup together?

Paxson is bad. Butler would be the starter over Stephenson, but that team would still be better than the Bulls' current roster.

Rose = Rose
Butler = Butler
Deng > Snell / Dunleavy / McDermott
Love > Pau
Noah = Noah
Mirotic = Mirotic
etc etc

Stephenson would make the bench better.
