It sounds like Andrei Kirilenko is a goner from the Jazz. Anyone think he's be a good fit on the Bulls?

The notion was bounced around here last year.
Not sure how the Noc signing impacts this type of a move help it or hinder it? Can a new Restricted FA contract be traded right now?
What would the Jazz want in return?
How would it impact the cap & Gordon extension?

Thoughts Bucket?
I think you liked the fit last time around.

I liked the possibility of robbing them blind, if they were desperate to move him. But, if they want fair value for the Kirilenko of 2-3 years ago, then no way. His contract is just too big and he hasn’t lived up to it lately.

Also, now that we’ve signed Joe Smith, we couldn’t take on AK without going over the luxury tax, and Reinsdorf wouldn’t green-light such a transaction.

Like buckets said, if we could rip them off, fine, but I doubt that would work.

AK47 hasn't been that good either of late, and even if he gets back to being an all-around force, he really isn't much of a scorer down low.

I just tried a couple spins on the ESPN trade machine, and the only way to make the salaries work is a 5 for 1 or send Big Ben to Utah.

3 for 1 would work. We just can’t trade Joe Smith until December 15th. Pax wouldn’t anyway, but Nocioni + Duhon + Smith would be enough to make salaries match.

I just realized my second post probably looks a little funny after what I wrote originally.

Basically, my take is this:

The Bulls missed their window to make a blockbuster trade. They no longer have the combination of expiring money, lottery picks, and rookie contracts to make such a deal happen. With the Joe Smith signing and the status of their payroll (BYC players, PPP players, etc), the Bulls are not in a position to make a big splash this year. I’m 99% convinced that the team we roll out on day 1 will be the team we finish with in the playoffs. Next offseason, however, is a different story. We’ll have a medium-sized expiring contract (Joe Smith), plus Hinrich & Nocioni will no longer be BYC, and thus much easier to move. With the 25% rule, a deal centered around Nocioni plus Smith could land them, financially speaking, most any player in the league. And then the following year after that, Wallace will have an expiring contract. So essentially, Pax has/had an opportunity to make a big move in 4 out of 5 seasons (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009).

In conclusion, if Nas comes out and sees his shadow, we’ve got 3 more years of him calling Pax a pussy.

I just dont see that trade making alot of sense unless AK47 is back to pre-2006/7 levels. You probably said that already.
