lefty junkballer at AAA Charlotte. was a good prospect with the Giants but blew out the elbow. picked up off waivers by the Genius early this year. great BB/K ratio but has given up a lot of hits. lemme have a look-see.

Scott Downs is about to be released, so Surkamp may be coming.

Hahn wasted $4mil on Downs. Add that to the DeAza, Konerko, Paulino, and Keppinger contracts. you think they could have afforded to sign a real starting pitcher with that $15 mil?

Konerko is making $1.5mil this year with $1mil deffered. He isn't the problem with the payroll. It could be argued that he is wasting a roster spot, but honestly with what he has done for this team over the years he is one of the few guys you can do that for.

Also Scott Downs officially DFA'd

You got your wish.... from MLB.com

The White Sox swapped out a veteran left-hander for a prospect on Thursday, when they designated Scott Downs for assignment and recalled Eric Surkamp from Triple-A Charlotte.

For what?

Surkamp had not been announced when you posted it.

It was posted on the Sox Facebook page about 10am, so 2.5 hours late.

At least he copy pasted correctly this time. He had been having all sorts of trouble with that lately.

The best part of the damn thread is my "some camp(s)" line, but you all just choose to skip it.

Time to see what the MSFMB is up to, jerks.
