Settle down.

I know I know. The 2 days of mayhem without you being a part gave you withdrawal symptoms. We all understand.

Relax.

It’s not entirely clear what McNeil is holding out for this time. To some he’s made it known he dislikes working middays and wants to move to afternoon drive.

LOL, please. It's more vacation. He will not stop until he's at 364 days.

Yup! As the saying goes, you're worth it if you can get it. Fuck he's been there for 20+ years. Good for Uncle Teary!

You know that you're embarking on a legendary time in CSFMB history when someone shows up with an ability to make every thread about them that makes *me* go "damn!"

I figured Terry at 175 grand at the most. I'm really shocked at his salary. I thought the days of big payouts was gone.

500K was the high end, was surprised as well considering he comes in twice a week

Fewer than 20k per day? Doofi doing podcasts from their garages have more listeners than that.

Tried to listening to B&B the other day. Turned it on at 1:40 --just in time for a commercial break.

1:40 - 1:48 commercial break

1:48 - 1:56 actual live content with B&B

1:56 - 2:04 commercial break

2:04 - 2:06 replay of something said by someone else with a replay of B&B's response from earlier.

turned it off and went back to podcasts.

Switched back to WSCR briefly again about 20 minutes later (bumped the tunein play button by accident)--and of course they were in another commercial break.

The only people listening to terrestrial at this point have no choice and/or have very inelastic demand for the product. So there's no point in overpaying for talent--these folks will listen no matter who you put on. Newspapers have figured this out. Newspaper/radio's remaining audience is likely going to stick around no matter how crappy the product is; so no point in putting much effort/money into production of the product. Get it out the door at the lowest cost, and keep reducing that cost each year--until the market dries up enough that the game is no longer worth the candle.

Even at $250K thats big money for a guy who slaps on some headphones from his basement. he doesnt plan anything on the show, doesnt do many reads, etc

But yes, he is the support of the show. His wisecracks are what keep it a show, or else it would be an online education everyday from Dr. Bernstein

Norco addiction.

Why'd anyone voluntarily put acetaminophen in their body? -- nasty, nasty shit. You want good opiates sans acetaminophen, just drive to the west side and get a grip of ten dollar folds and you'll be sorted for the week. It'll cost less and be pure and natural, not some frankenstein's monster lab concoction.

I don't know why anyone would ever retire from the industry, given the compensation and benefits package. 4 hour days, 6 weeks+ of vacation, no overtime, six figure salary, plenty of holidays, all sorts of opportunity for side income/benefits.

I'd be like Les and die at that station.

Terry could buy a vacation home, build a studio and broadcast from it. I have a feeling he is a cheap ass that doesn't put a dollar out of his pocket into his profession that cannot either be expensed or taken as a tax deduction.

Because there is far more to life than all of that.

Les Grobstein makes 250k for a middle of the night show. He's a legend!

PS: Howard Stern always complains that the radio industry pays like crap. What is he smoking? It seems everyone at the score is making over 100k... and it's just a sports station. These guys make maddddddd money

Can't do this show without Mac. I thought I liked Spiegs but then Mac leaves and it's awful.

Oh and Rozner next week? That's the worst one right there.

Rozner isn't terrible just talking sports but he has the charisma of a dead tree. That's a big reason why he relies on meatball voice so heavily; it's probably the only thing he's ever done that made someone(Bernsie) laugh. Spiegs is the same way("2 Matts, 1 show?! That's hilarious!" - no one. ever.) which is why the two are weak together. Roz just can't carry the show and neither can Spiegs.

I like Les, but $250k for that shift? Is Mitch high? First of all Les would probably do it for $50k!

there is no way Les makes $250k.... why would you pay that kind of money to someone that only drunks and 3rd shifters would ever hear on air?
