Be it at the track, the tables, slots, lottery , etc. I don't have a specific number cuz I was too fucking drunk to remember but I know I had a good night in Vegas between roulette and blackjack mustve won somewhere in the neighborhood of $700 ( High roller , I know) . For those that feel comfortable sharing, feel free.

Had a nice month around the Xmas season last year.

$1600 on a Pick 5
$800 on a 40-1 shot
$2300 on a Pick 5

Used some of it for bills, some of it on xmas gifts for the fam, but I was mostly a dumb ass and bet (lost) a lot of it back.

 Anything I've ever won has subsequently been gambled away.

The most I've ever won was on the Kansas-Memphis Championship basketball game in '08?.. I don't remember how much, but it was at least a couple thousand. I bet the outcome of the championship game to be Kansas over Memphis before the tournament started at like 60-1 or something (thank you Mario Chalmers).

Also won roughly $1,500, I think, on last year's Preakness thanks to spmack's recommendations. It was a superfecta box. Again, it was all lost on future gambling.

I also hit a Pick 5 last month worth $730. Unfortunately I bet and lost half of it back.....that's the bad part about online horse racing for me....had I won that Pick 5 at a track or OTB, I would have got the cash right there....but when it's online, there's about a 3 or 4 day waiting period, so it sits in your online account as available for betting purposes but not to cash out yet (that's how they get you. :D ) so instead of logging out and waiting a few days to cash it out completely, I'll make some bets, usually bad ones.

I think it would be a very enjoyable afternoon to spend at the track / OTB with you and JORR. Going to have to arrange that at some point

In one hand:
$1836 in PLO Hi/LO on Pokerstars at a 2/4 table.

Most I ever lost in one hand was a little over 700 at a later date in PLO.

Bodog was the worst with this. Assholes would make you wait over a week to take your money out. Party Poker was immediate when that site was still allowed.

I won five grand playing blackjack one night in Vegas for a bachelor party. Had some pit guys watching me after a while. Ended up getting the whole weekend comp'd. Pretty sweet deal.

Same night I saw Larry Flynt playing every position at a private blackjack table at $10 grand per position. Also when I exposed the shortness of George Foreman. Busy weekend.

I actually think xpressbet is the best with this, and why I think they are the best among the Big 3 (TVG and Twinspires).

Xpressbet will generally let you cash out what you've won minus what you've put in for the day (or weekend).

For example, say you put in $100, and you win $500....XB will let you cash out $400 right away. Whenever I win, I try to cash out immediately to save myself, but sometimes I get caught up in the waiting period and it's like money burning a hole in my pocket.

Never tried Bodog, or Bovada, but I've thought about it.

Bodog is terrible. I used it for years until I saw the light and found out that it is actually possible to get paid within a reasonable amount of time.

When I was in college, one of my buddies got a drinking ticket that was like $500 because it was multiple offenses (total abuse of power, but I digress...). He found a site that allowed a money line bet on Wake Forest against some awful mid-major team. They were like 30 point favorites. So, in order to win the money to have a "wash" on the drinking ticket, he put like 2 or 3 grand on Wake Forest straight up with the money line... and they ended up losing by a free throw and he lost a few thousand. He was a rich suburban kid, but it still basically wiped out everything he had for that semester, and he had to go cry to mommy and daddy.

I haven't played online at all since around September of 08. Have only made one 50 dollar bet since April of 08. Mostly because I moved out and have bills to pay now, but also because It is harder to put money on poker sites to play. I used to use Bodog and another site I cant remember that was shut down by the government to place sports bets.

Yeah I'm pretty sure if I had wife and kids I'd probably wouldn't be doing it as much. Not until I'm making Nas or Dr. Ken money.

As a stock market guy, that is where most of my gambling occurs. I would make option plays on event driven companies, something like a stock that has an FDA drug decision coming out. One of my best was on Intermune where I bet the drug would fail. It was a fairly modest cost for the put options, maybe $1,000. It turned into $7,000.

I have a very similar play right now on Yahoo with the Alibaba IPO. I am already up about $6,000, and it may turn into $15,000 or so by the time Alibaba goes public in August.

If you want a tip on what we are looking at as our next play, try Kate Spade (ticker= KATE). We are pretty sure the stock is worth no more than $20-25/share. It is around $38, so we may buy some of the January 2015 put options with a $35 strike price.

i won 19 hands in a row of blackjack one night about 15 years ago at the Excalibur in Vegas. turned $20 into over 4k. had a couple sweet double-downs and splits in that run. i lost about $1500 on my last hand on a losing double-down. that was a great night, lots of fun. i also won a small jackpot on a slot machine later that night and won another thousand playing blackjack to MGM. i went home with a lot of cash that trip. its been kind of dry since then at the tables.

Not a real big gambler but took two trips with my now ex-wife out to Vegas and stayed at the Golden Nugget
both times. I am really no savvy black jack player but managed to win about $1200 over the course of
a few days the first time. Went back a few years later and scraped out $700 or so over a few days so
it wasn't bad. The first year the Pats won the Super Bowl against the Rams I was in some kind of pool
where you assigned value to each pick during the entire playoffs. The only possible way I could have
won the entire pool was to take the Patriots to win. This was when no one thought they had a chance
in hell and no one else took them, even when other people had no chance to win either unless they
took them. Anyway they win and I pick up about $800. The guy who ran the pool was not too happy
about forking that money over to me.

Ok, you guys don't make me feel bad. Because I feel like the dumbest ass in the world when I win a lot of money and don't stop and then lose some of it....Sounds like a few of you do/have done the same. :D

About a year and a half ago, I won 230 bucks on a 20-1 shot, and the GF was with me at the time. She made me leave right after that, even though I wanted to keep going. A few days later, my battery in my truck died and it cost about the same amount that I would have probably lost in bets had I stayed.

That's funny. My biggest gambling win was 2 weeks before this game. Ravens @ Raiders in the AFC championship game. I bet the Ravens on the money line. Pretty sure they were like 6 point dogs.

I once saw a guy at a Vegas sports book collecting what had to be hundreds of thousands of dollars at the window. He was big slob so we figured he was a runner laying off money for a bookie.

He was putting huge stacks of hundreds in every pocket of his coat.

when i was growing up i had "the sports uncle" who was the guy who had hawks season tickets with his buddies in section M of the old chicago stadium. one of their crowning achievements was the invention of a french player named "Jocelyn None" (pronounced no-nay, s i think there was an accent mark on the e" so wheneve there was a goal that was assisted by "None" they credited it to French hockey legend "Jocelyn None" --- their custom shirts used to say "SECTION M SAYS SIT DOWN" on the front and "NONE: HE'S FRENCH" on the back, IIRC.

anyways, they had goal pools where everyone kicked in a few bucks and picked a player, so i ended up with savard and suffice to say he had a breakaway/spin-o-rama deal and i collected a cool crisp round of beer for my uncle's guys (i think it was $43. but even at an early age i was prone to pay it forward like that)

and then afterwards they decided to let me play a week of NFL pickem (against the spread) and i managed to win that handily, raking in $50 easy. after that 2/2 start to my gambling endeavors i was barred from playing cuz i dont think they were big fans of losing their $$$ to a 8-10 year old kid.

i kept the $$$ from the NFL pickem winnings and it went toward my sega saturn fund, along with that $20 i found on the street and the hard-earned $$$ from my paper route. other than that, i can't say i've ever really gotten into gambling as a vice cuz i went straight to the top of the hedonistic vices by the time i was in my early 20s and lord knows i've gambled with my life/well-being enough to make up for anything that could be possibly gained by gambling on sports.
