Like I said last night I believe the Bulls went to LA to get finish selling Melo in addition to meeting with Gasol. Sounds like the Knicks believe that too and they are flying out to try to prevent it. It's that or a 3 team trade is about to go down.

You still optimistic, Nas? The NY Post and other outlets suggested Melo wasn't down with the reported 16 million Chicago could offer on a yearly basis. Woj now tweets that Melo talked to Gasol at some point about playing together...in NY. Also ESPN speculates that the Bulls were quick to fly to Gasol because they're pessimistic about Melo leaving NY. The contract Chicago could offer is something like 64-70 something million over four years. That's likely nothing in Melo's eyes given what he could get from NY.

NY as a final destination makes sense. Money and the wife is happy.

Yup. There are two reports, if accurate together, that would make him a special kind of dumbass:

1) He wants Taj to be in Chicago if he signs
2) He doesn't like the money Chicago can offer

Obviously he cannot get more money if he demands that Taj stick around. Can't see how he doesn't get it, or he does and he's wasting the Bulls' time.
