Bulls are looking to bring over Mirotic, so Boozer is all but gone.

Looking back, I will never forget the times Boozer had an uncontested dunk and, while celebrating after the dunk, allowed the other team to get a fast break on the other end. Only Carlos did it so beautifully.

What will you remember most about the Carlos Boozer era?

Is there anything to really remember?

Decent numbers but totally invisible, didn't want to play defense and really only played 75% of the game.

At least the Bulls didn't sign Amare.

That's really the best you can say. It could have been much worse. This means that the Bulls aren't getting Melo or Gasol. I hope that they turn their attention to Stevenson.

Yes. That is why Nas or someone said it would be odd to see him play for Miami next year at minimum and Bulls pay the rest.

He is placed up for bid. Who ever bids the most of his contract gets him and Bulls pay the rest. So in theory the wizards could bid a million and if no one went higher they get him and Bulls pay other 15.

If no one places a bid he becomes a free agent and can sign anywhere.

Mostly true but he seemed to always get up against Miami. I guess he was from there or whatever.

Single most frustrating player I've ever watched. Sweet midrange jumper and good rebounder but horrendous on defense and lazy as hell. Very slow feet on defense and no lift. Invisible in big games against good defenses. Made terrible decisions and made stupid fouls frequently. Never really seemed committed to anything but making himself the center of attention.

Don't let the door hit you.

Definition of consolation prize. Not what you wanted but you'll reluctantly take it over nothing at all.

Ah yes. The take home version of the game.

Yup, and when you eventually lose that prize you don't really miss it that much, assuming you noticed it being lost in the first place.

I'll remember that DWill was a hell of a PG back in his Jazz days, as he made Boozer look consistently good on offense. Oddly, I don't recall how Carlos defended back then, but after witnessing his Bulls tenure, I'm confident that he didn't.

Is this about Boozer or me?

A friend of mine (former pro) told me that coaches and management fall in love with believing something that doesn't currently exist. Believing Boozer as anything but a soft western conference bigman with that sweet midrang jumper being the full extent of his game. No handles, no feet, no hops, olé defense, and phantom rebounding ("get it, Jo!"). You wouldn't have asked a Charles Oakley to play point-power, you don't ask a Mike Dunleavy to be a bruising rebounding machine. Carlos Boozer will be remembered as a guy who could be effective right up to the point that the game mattered, or about the 34 minute mark (whichever occurred first).

When i see a guy like Boozer play night after night, I always wonder how a Scout who had the assignment to watch him, missed on this. You know what the guy is. You see his limitations. You know he was a 2nd pick . You know he is 6'10 and plays like 6'8".

Now, did the report come back stating all these things and Gar pax, or Pax at that time, just goes ahead and folds under the peer pressure and signs the guy? Instead of spending much less and getting Channing Frye? who at plays is what you pay for $6 M a year, 10 pts, 6'11" defense.

I have asked the question and being my guy is close to Pax, he doesn't like to break bad on him, but he agrees with me on it.

I believe of all of the major sports, basketball should be the easiest to scout. Even for college to pro. There should never be a "He simply can't play in the NBA" for top 5 picks in the draft. Yet there are. Never get that.

Baseball I totally get top 5 busts. That's the toughest one to project college or high school to pro. Hockey and Football probably tied for 2nd toughest to project.

Basketball should be the easiest by far.

You told him he will be moved or amnestied.

Now you are the phone trying to trade him to a team that knows you need to Amnesty him tomorrow. Would you give anything for him today? Not even a second rounder.

I really don't understand all the rules and intricacies of the salary cap in that league, but an expiring contract does have value in certain situations, right?

Teams are willing to trade for them midseason when they realize their season is over, but nobody wants to take on a bad contract at the start of the season.
