I'll never forget the time I won $50 on a scratch off. 7-11-21 was the game I believe. I too was 18.

I only had $2 to my name at the time, and I was trying to make it to payday. I decided I would put 1 gallon in the tank (this was back when gas was under $1 in Rockford, circa 1997), and the other $ on the scratch off....wouldn't you know, I win! Filled the rest of the tank up, and kept the rest, probably to use on some Beef A Roo.

So I thought winning on scratch offs were common, right? Every time I would get low on money, I figured I'd win with a scratch off. Never won again, besides for a free ticket here or there.

Someone won 100k in the lottery at the liquor store near my crib, 111 N Kedzie over the weekend. It made the paper because it has yet to be claimed.

I said that whomever won is probably plotting to get the hell out of town, and is probably not going back to that liquor store until they can get a police escort because the Illinois Lottery likes to put people on blast when they win big.

While in the Navy, I won 5K from a slot machine in a Monte Carlo casino. Less than 24 hours later it was gone via buddies, booze & broads.

A few years back, my wife and I were playing 21 in Vegas. It was just the two of us at the table, and we were both scratching out a little profit. Four rubes from Iowa sat down at the table, including the most clueless player that I have ever seen, who occupied third base. Immediately, the cards went cold for us. After the second time he hit on 15, with dealer showing a 6, I asked him why he hit, when the obvious move is to stand. He said, "my daddy said to always hit with 15". We cashed out our chips, and moved to a new table.

Couple weeks ago I came up one card short of the progressive straight flush on Mississippi Stud. Had four straight diamonds working waiting on last card. A diamond came up but was 2 digits off. They never saw someone feel so bad with that hand. Missed 17k and got 425.

Last weekend, in a 8 or 9 horse field I was alive to 4 different horses in a Pick 4, winnings would have ranged from $600-1000 depending on which of the 4 horses would win.




Got beat by the favorite, who was like 0-31 or something before breaking his maiden. Fucker.

On 11/18/2000 I bet $1100 on Northwestern -10.5 over Illinois. I was out of town and so nervous that I spent the entire day on the exact phone below getting score updates. Haven't bet more than a hondo on a single game since.

~$250 in the second Giants Patriots SB from the squares done here. Also won a contest at work a few years back and got a $300 gift card to a store of my choice. Went with Sam Ash and got my 12string acoustic.

Only been to a casino once and was up about $20 when I walked out.
