on pace for 1.6 this year. at least at B-R.

Whatever the case, they're identifying players marginally better than Beckham as "successful". That was my friend's argument with Epstein. He'd rather take a chance trying to get a Kershaw or Verlander than wind up with a 1.5-2.0 WAR position player which is where many of the "successful" draftees fall.

For a little context...

Players between 1.5-2.0 last year

Carlos Beltran
Michael Bourn
Brandon Moss
Jon Jay
Daniel Nova
Adam Lind
N. Aoki
Michaeal Brantley
AJ Punchme
Domonick Brown
Erick Aybar
Anthony Rizzo
Jimmy Rollins

Really?

Moss hit 30 homers (.859 OPS)
Beltran hit 24 homers (.830 OPS)
Lind hit 23 homers (.854 ops)
Domonick Brown hit 27 homers (.818 ops)
Aoki, Bourn, and Rollins all stole 20 bases.

Average MLB players. Were talking about guys who never even play in the majors on these prospect lists. These guys are successes
