Konerko was a good player who grew up in AZ and swung a bat year round and developed a great swing.

This doesnt mean anyone can become good by swinging all year, but the number of guys I knew with batting cages as a kid also turned out to be some of the best hitters I knew and they did maz out their talents.

Whether it was a college ride, drafted in the minors or made MLB, you develop a much better swing than the kid who plays 3 times a week and practices only during the season.

Konerko, I think everyone knows lacks speed, maybe the slowest player in MLB, but the guy will be able to swing a bat until he is 50.

I'm not going to ever say that someone with 9 GW RBI is better than someone with 7 GW RBI, but one would notice there are no names that seem misplaced on that list. That list is made of pretty much "stars" and Rizzo and Abreu both belong on it, and are there, as you would guess. As are all other "run producers."

i will take 4 1/2 tool Mike Trout 310/401/602 21 HR 63 R 68 RBI 10 SB 5.3 WAR
over Abreu 287/337/629 28 HR 48 R 1 SB 3.0 WAR

and I would consider Tulo 350/441/516 20 HR 70 R 49 RBI 1 SB 5.2 WAR at a premium position.

Even though it has flaws especially on the defensive side WAR seems to be about the best all stat to comp guys with...but it is also the eye test.... Trout really is a 5 tool guy and I don;t think I see 5 tools in either Jose or Rizzo they both play a position where you can not judge their arm and neither is a burned on the base path. Jose has 80 plus plus raw power and it is the best single tool of all three guys... but Trout has a better hit tool, better glove and blows them both away on speed

Again if have the first pick in build your team from scratch I take the 22 year old CF with nearly 3 elite years in the book.

I haven't paid a lot of attention to some of the back and forth trolling, but I don't think Kirkwood has been that bad, as he? He is an intelligent Cubs fan that is probably wrapped up in the trolling at the moment.
