If you think blowing in LBJ's ear is the extent of his "issues" then you need to look further. Nas wants to chalk this up to immaturity. I suppose that's possible. But he will be 24 when the season starts. That's a grown-ass man and I'd bet there are more goofballs that end up out of the league than grow out of it with that kind of resume.

Looks like Dunleavy and Randolph will be here too.

Having more recently been 24 than most around here - no, 24 is pretty damn immature. And some never grow out of it.

I believe the difference is it doesn't effect the way he competes. He still leaves it all on the court.

I'm not the biggest NBA fan, but are Noah, Gasol, and Taj really gonna be on the floor at the same time? With a PG with 2 bad knees?

That sounds like the slowest lineup in the history of history.

I don't know how that is going to work. Taj usually finishes games but I would be shocked if Gasol was put on the bench late in games. I'm curious how that will work. He really doesn't fill a need.

Noah and Taj aren't slow and both run the floor well. But no, they won't likely be on the floor very much together. Pau does fill a need because unlike Boozer he is a very good backup center so he could potentially save a lot of minutes for Noah. He can also play with Noah, Gibson, or Mirotic and be effective. His health will determine his success here. This isn't Boozer. He's way more talented all around than Boozer, who was really one dimensional offensively.

So we are supposed to celebrate a backup center in a league that doesn't celebrate centers anymore?

Ugh

He was promised a starting spot. Why? I don't know.

What? He averaged 17-9-3 last year in a system that basically ostracized him from the gameplan. Is that a backup center? This isn't a superstar acquisition but he's still a really good player if he's healthy. If he is, it will turn out to be a good acquisition.

Agreed. Ideally, he would come off the bench but still play 28-30 mpg between the 4/5 position.

Taj is a great teammate. This will be about the 4th year in a row that he will come off the bench when he should be starting.

In reality he's a very good starting center or PF. Being a starter or backup doesn't really matter as Taj and Boozer showed last year. Noah/Taj/Pau is one of, if not the best frontcourts in the league. If you keep trying to imply Gasol sucks just stop. He doesn't.

Manu made a hall of fame career coming off the bench. I guess Taj is cut from the same mold. He will get his minutes still.

I'm not implying that, or anything, really. Go back and read my post. I don't see how the 3 big guys and D Rose can keep up against most teams.

However, in the span of 5 minutes, you said he was a backup and then got mad at me for calling him a backup.
That's what I'm "implying".

Because for some reason you took that to mean solely backup center. The idea of starting/backup and positions isn't even relevant really. He's obviously going to be a really important cog, especially offensively. And Noah and Taj are two of the best defensive players in the NBA. It's just silly to suggest a lineup with them(and Jimmt Butler) will struggle to keep up with teams.

That's true. He does provide instant energy off the bench.

Yeah. If you took that to mean that he was signed as a backup center and that's just his role that's on you. Like you said, NBA isn't your thing. Notice how Nas didn't make the same mistaken assumption.

Taj does have the ability to guard some wings. Offensively they would have an issue spreading the floor unless Taj is really working on his outside shot.

Realistically those three can't play together for more than 4-5 possessions in a row, if that.

Do you bring back Kirk and Augustin? I believe Augustin is a must. I would actually like to see him and Rose in the back court together and Jimmy at SF.

Got it. I made a post saying that I didn't understand him working in the starting lineup, (notice how Nas didn't jump on that  ) then you made the post about him being a better backup center than Boozer.

Did I use the word backup?
Or did you?
That's right, you did. And then I responded to you.
Take a deep breath, man. You're too confrontational. You could watch 400 NBA games per year and I could watch 4. Yet nobody values anybody's opinion more than another. Nobody makes lists like that.

Well, almost nobody.

If they're cheap enough sure. If you have to choose id rather have Kirk.

You're the only one overreacting and saying things like "read my post" like I already didn't. I was just mentioning an additional role that Pau provides that Boozer didn't and you jumped on it really illogically. It's ok man. I guess you misunderstood.

Defensively Kirk is still solid but offensively he can't put the ball in the basket. I think the Bulls need offense more. I know that I am more of an Augustin fan and you don't really care much for him.

Gasol had good numbers in the West last year. The Bulls may very well have the best two Centers in the East. Of course they will both be 4/5 combos.

I would like to see Ray Allen some how some way. Fifteen mins a game including the final 5. For a couple of years why not?
