Also, not saying they will win anything but Noah and/or Gasol will feed Taj a shit load of easy buckets.

Mike D. is still on the team to add some outside scoring.

Looking at it analytically, they might not lose a game.

Who will be the penetrator on this team after Rose suffers his third annual season-ending knee injury?

Well since McDermott is a dangerous hybrid of Paul Pierce, Mark Aguirre, and Charles Barkley, I figure he can handle that.

Noah? For the life of me I can understand why they didn't give Augustin that contract for $3M a year. Kirk can't play 35 minutes a night.

I think they mentioned some sort of relationship between he and Rose. Not sure Rose still needs a mentor at this point, but I would have rather had Augustin coming off the bench to gif Rose a breather...

Like JORR would say, all but maybe 5-10 players from this draft will not have as good a career as he's had.

No setting a screen is a quite important asset....I think he is a poor mans Dirk! plus 6-10 220 is that right ? Seems light

I have my reservations about this guy, but he shot 45% from 3. 45 damn percent. He's 6'10" and shot the 3 like McDermott. And he was playing in a league that's better than NCAA ball. You'd have to think he has a place in this league.

Though I think your pessimism regarding a Rose injury is ridiculous, you bring up a good point. I don't like the Gasol move. You need a second ball-handler. I wanted them to get Lance. Once again, we find we have one guy that can initiate offense. That's not enough. How are you going to utilize Pau when opposing teams can trap the ball so easily?

Agreed. B&B are saying that Kirk was the better choice, but I totally disagree. His shooting sucks, I don't care if he is more flexible in his roles. Augustin should have gotten that contract, and Kirk should have been glad to get the vet minimum. Was there really a market for Kirk at this point? 2 straight years of 10.8 PER. Is that really worth $3M?

I heard the Hornets had interest. The Bulls are going into another season with only 1 guy that can create off the dribble and that guy has played less than 20% of the games the last 3 seasons. Augustin should have been the priority.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't get the Augustin love. No doubt he had a bounce back season last year, but once the playoffs came he was nowhere to be found. Washington game planned for him and shut him down. I just don't see the big loss in losing him to Detroit.

I don't think you would have to worry about teams game planning for Augustin this year. Right now Rose is the only Bulls player that can attack the basket off the dribble or create his own shot. They need another guy and they could have had him for the price of Hinrich. I would have loved to see him and Rose on the court together.

until proven otherwise, I consider Thibs the guard whisperer. Give him any athletic guy off the scrap heap and he will get you Augustin, Bellinelli, Watson, etc.

It's actually amazing how much Thibs figures into these conversations.

Every player acquired is projected to be good with the caveat that "Thibs will be working with him."

That speaks volumes. It's easy to forget how good he is.

I'm sure working with him could get exhausting, as the dude seems to have a level of concentration and passion that is extremely rare, but I would also think they have to respect him because he doesn't play favorites and is very direct in how he feels.

Don I don't want the Bulls to get rid of Thibs. He's by far my favorite coach.
