He cant complain about the talent going forward because he knows more than anyone what he chose to play with maybe he chose to believe in the magic and zenith of Phil Jackson I don't believe that they will get it done and he has to live with that.

Throughout the Lin sanity period he was identified as the problem. That is the true origin of Goffs get Melo the fucking ball. That is where it began. It was believed that Melo was holding Lin back. I'm sure that there people on this board that believed it also. Now that Lin has been exposed they choose to work the championship angle. The fact is the Knicks did get better when they gave Melo the ball and Jeremy Lin has been found to be nothing more than a run of the mill bench player.
Did the Knicks get better though? Would you consider the Knicks to have been successful once the Jeremy Lin mania was over?

I see a whole lot of meaningless Knicks basketball. Getting the ball to Carmelo and getting out of the way HAS NOT WORKED in any meaningful way.

So the Knicks' record wasn't better when Anthony was hurt and Lin started and was running the offense?

During the Lin sanity period they were a .500 team. Once they fired D Antoni and hired Woodson the emphasis changed and their record became better. Last yr they won 54 games with a Melo centric offense. I know it's meaningless to the Melo critics because they didn't win a championship. He carried the team that yr. Look at what he had to work with. They choose to ignore the supporting cast because it will effectively refute the narrative. It's funny how insane the whole Lin sanity thing appears now. Houston gave him away once they realized that he wasn't that good. The Knicks were better once they got away from his high turnover lack of defense playing ways. If the ball stopping ways of Carmelo Anthony is such a problem why is there disappointment that he didn't bring his act to Chicago?

I recall Marshmelo having some really good teams in Denver. Especially with Iverson and Billups.

Name the greatest achievement in Carmelo's NY career. Tell me how well "Get the ball to Carmelo and get out of the way has worked" in that context.

The whole point of the Lin mania was that the Knicks actually looked like a formidable team. They never have with Carmelo even if they had a good regular season.

The Amare excuse really doesn't work when you consider the Bulls were the 4th seed last year even though their best offensive player was DJ Augustin.

Winning 54 games with that cast is an achievement. Also I don't understand how you can compare the two teams. Bulls supporting cast was better the guy averaged 27 and 8 there have not been a lot of people that have done that. The Bulls were better at every position except the position Anthony played and you're saying the excuse doesn't hold up. Also Anthony finished 3rd in MVP voting no small feat.

I believe he meant the one year the Knicks weren't bad with him.

So, let me get this straight. Carmelo finished 3rd in the MVP voting, and the Knicks fail to do anything meaningful, and this is evidence that you should "get Carmelo the ball and get out of the way"?

What would Jason Goff say if he knew that long time guy was citing regular season success as a big deal?

it beats losing 54 games. Could Jordan have won with that team No. You hold Carmelo Anthony to different standard. If you expected him to win anything with that lineup then both your sanity and your basketball acumen need to be questioned. If he is such a chronic loser and ball hog why did they keep putting him on the Olympic team. Surely Colangelo would not have wanted such a loser to represent the country.

Really? Who did the Bulls have beyond Noah and Taj? Marshmelo had essentially same team he had the year before. The Bulls lost their 2 best scoring options and had to pick a guy up off the street to carry the load.

Marshmelo has had some really good teams and failed to get past the first round of the playoffs. Basketball is a sport where a great player can carry a team to victory in Round 1. Maybe he didn't necessarily have a sure fire championship roster but he had more than enough talent around him to get out of the First Round.
