I had no recollection of that series so I looked it up. Sounds horrible and, yet, it premiered to 25 million viewers. 25 million!?!?

It averaged 16 million. I think Walking Dead these days gets about 15 mil and it's one of the top shows around. Crazy. I've never even heard of this show. But, I was partying pretty heavily throughout the '90s as a guy on the good dolphin Marriage Plan.

Go back to the MASH days with it's finale getting like 100 million viewers is unreal.

My guy Ace brings that up all the time. Dukes of Hazzard used to get like a 27 rating. Breaking Bad's finale got like 15% of a normal D o H episode

15 mil for a Cable show is a big deal. Back in the day, I don't think those were very good numbers for something on a major network.

I watched one episode. Maybe...

That's the point. I think it's surprising that so many people have as many common interests as they do given so many viewing options. 16 mil wasn't much back then. Now that show would probably get about 6-8, maybe.

You guys probably weren't around pre-cable. But everybody watched one of the same 3 things (nobody watched PBS) and maybe some WGN.

I kind of miss that. [Insert Old Man Screaming at Cloud].

When I was a kid, I was promised that my kids would have to change the channel for me one day. Now it's all push buttons and ball bearings. That doesn't build character. They lied to me. Not fair.

I used to watch PBS all the time back in the day. Monty Python, Dave Allen...& the occasional bit of artsy nudity (always seemed to be in Victorian era shows)
