So you're telling me if a team gets bit hard by the injury bug they are likely to struggle? Spin us another yarn there, paw.

Huh? I never said they wouldn't be better. They had the worst rushing defense in the history of the league last year. There's plenty of room to improve and still suck.

Your safety play will be terrible again. Accept it.

LB - 2 old, injured guys who might be good if they can stay healthy. Every other LBer is unknown or is known to suck.

DE - one old ass pass rusher on the entire team. That's it.

DT - again, one good, old guy and a bunch of riff raff.

The Bears defense will be pretty bad. This is not even close to trolling or being controversial. I'm not sure why you're even arguing it.

The Bears offense was top 10 in yards last season and #2 in points despite the injury to Cutler and it being their first year in the system. Expecting the offense to be top 3 isn't a stretch. The defense was a top 15 unit before Briggs went out. They had a ton on injuries and I believe the defense is deep with good players. Whenever you have a great offense it makes the defense job easier. They'll be in attack mode after the 1st half most games IMO. A top 3 offense and a top 10 defense is doable.

I don't think the Bears offense is conducive to having a good defense. They will either go three-and-out, commit a turnover, or score quickly on big strikes to Jeffery/Marshall. The old-timers will be gassed.

Nas is right on the money here. If the Bears are healthy, the defense will rebound from last years disaster into the top 20. The Bears have too many big time players on D to be bad again. Last year was the exception, not the rule.
The offense was great in year 1 of the Tresty era. They will be deadly in year 2.

The Bears are going to beat a lot of good teams this year.

You're right Scorehead. While I haven't watched the NFL as long as many here, one thing I know for sure is building your team with big name free agents in their 30s is guaranteed to succeed.

No, the Bears offense was 8th in yards and 2nd in points in part BECAUSE Cutler was injured.

I do. The re-signing of Cutler was great.

I too believe the Bears will be in the top 65% of defenses

The offense is designed for long drives and Forte should have 1 more great season left in him.

I can easily see the offense falling out of the top-10 in both yards/game or points/game. Glancing at the 2014 schedule there are much tougher defenses than 2013.

Too many big time players on D? This isn't 2010. There's not gonna be one pro bowler on that side of the ball this year.

Yup.

I can't wait to see Peppers trying to play in a 3-4 defense.

I am just reading and taking notes. I sure there will be some red faces come December from a lot of the people that KNEW the future before the first preseason game.

I am not saying SB or anything for anyone until week 6 or so. But given basic good fortune with injuries and such this defense has to be able to move from 31 to 21? So even if the offense regressed a bit doesn't that get you the one game you only needed last year to playoffs?

Not sure. They finished the season 10-6 and 8-8 and still missed the playoffs by 1 game the last 2 years. Winning the division has to be the way to get in. All 4 teams in the North look good on paper.

I don't really care about that. I have already said multiple times both defenses will be bad. The difference between Chicago and Green Bay is Cutler and Rodgers and nothing is going to change that for the foreseeable future. Sorry.

Clearly Rodgers is better but the Bears have more offensive weapons than Green Bay. Bears offense > Packers offense

As long as both QBs start all 16 games Green Bay will always have a better offense.

I understand your point but I don't agree with that. We're going to have 3 studs at WR this year and Forte should still be great. When you throw in Bennett and our offensive line I believe that gives us the edge. Trestman is smarter too.
