Who will have the better defense this year RFDC? The Bears or our Hoosiers? :D

I understand your point but I don't agree with that. We're going to have 3 studs at WR this year and Forte should still be great. When you throw in Bennett and our offensive line I believe that gives us the edge. Trestman is smarter too.

I think thats heavily exagerated. Randall Cobb is as good as any WR on the Bears, but clearly more of an injury risk. Lacy is as good as Forte. O lines are comparable.

I look at it this way: the Bears are trying to win the same way New England, Green Bay, New Orleans, Peyton's teams, etc have recently. They want a high powered offense scoring 28+ ppg and have the defense take just enough possessions away and do just well enough to let the offense win 11-13 games on the season. The obvious struggle with executing this is going to be that Cutler's accuracy and decision making are far inferior to Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, and Brees. He's not going to be consistently accurate or smart enough to ever lead an offense-first team to 12+ wins or a Super Bowl.

That's my honest, trying to be objective assessment. I dont think Green Bay is a serious contender either because of how bad the defense will likely be. But if Chicago and Green Bay are going to try to win with high powered offenses and mediocre defenses, of course I'm always taking the team with Rodgers than Cutler, regardless of surrounding talent.

Rodgers is far superior to Cutler in any matchup.

Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL but saying Cobb is as good as any Bears WR or that Lacy is as good as Forte is a bad football thought and far from being objective. It's like me saying Cutler is as good as Rodgers.

Or a guy with 2 career catches for 12 yards is a stud.

No, that analogy is a bad thought. I'm not talking AP or Calvin Johnson, which would be the Rodgers equivalent.

Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall are likely HoFers. Cobb is another injury plagued year from becoming a journeyman and Lacy is 80 McNuggetts from becoming Curtis Enis. Cutler is closer to Rodgers.

Nas, I hope you are right about Wilson, but there have been hundreds of athletes with lots of potential who were bust outs. Even if he were to win the 3rd WR spot, with B marsh, Alshon, Marty, & Matt, I'm not sure that Jay will throw many balls to him.

Jay liked him last year and by all accounts he has bulked up and improved. I think it's easier for him. He'll be asked to beat the 3rd best corner ever or a safety. I like his chances in those match ups. When Marshall is done in a couple years he'll slide over and become the #2 WR at 23 or 24.

Lacy is closer to Bettis than Enis. You'll see that this year when he's even better because he's not playing with horrendous starting QBs for half the season. I'm not sure dolphin will ever be more wrong on a player than he was on Lacy.

Jeffrey is probably the best WR on the team, and Marshall is also really damn good. So is Randall Cobb. He much more versatile and different than either of them, and just as valuable. Jordy Nelson is also very good. The Bears have better skill position players, but there is certainly not a big enough gap to offset Cutler and Rodgers as the leaders of the offense.

I like Wilson and think he'll be good. I think calling him a stud is gonna be a rather dramatic overstatement.

As a #3 with his size and athleticism I think he'll be great this year for what he's being asked to do. He'll definitely need a couple more years of experience to really show what he can be.

Crap, I know nothing about football anymore, but the fact you guys all seem to like the Bears and think they'll do well is not usually a good sign.

His hands and ability to deal with contact are complete unknowns though. He's got potential to be really good. We'll see.

Lovie has been gone for almost 2 years. You need to embrace the guy in my avatar. This is the beginning of a new era of Bears dominance.

Look up Marquess Wilson a little bit. Lot of potential there.

You're responsible for that. There is a lot of turnover every year and as a knowledgeable fan you are required to keep up. I remember the days when you could hold your own in any sports debate. You lost your fastball.

No, Lovie is. I kinda stopped watching after that Giants game, maybe 2010? Kids' activities got in the way too.

Are they? The Packers receivers could go 6 deep in Nelson, Cobb, Boykin, Adams (21 years old only 2 catches and 12 yards from being a stud), Abbrederis and White.

While no tight end or running back will accrue the statistics Forte and Bennett can I'd wager the collection of Packers depth can equal or come within 100 yards.

In no way do I see large enough gulf in skill position players to plug the gap between Rodgers and Cutler who was outplayed by a high school coach last year. Not sure I've ever heard a team expect to improve their offensive production by letting their best quarterback go. The Bears offense will be in the 10-15 area this year.

Lacy isn't on Forte's level...yet. Cobb/Nelson vs Marshall/AJ is a good matchup. Rodgers puts Cobb/Nelson ahead of the Bears tandem.

I'm not sure what more you could have expected of Lacy last year. Nas knows I've been a long time Forte guy on here, but Lacy is pretty great too. And only one of them is still getting better.
