At least they made sure to show how big their dicks are once again by hitting the cubs best hitter twice. The cardinal way!!! Now another stroke is joining the team tomorrow as none other than Aj is signing before tomorrow's game.

I can't wait to see how many hbp the cubs earned for tomorrow's game by having the audacity to win tonight.

Jhonny's relative competence has made my man-boner for this scenario to have lessened

Rumors of SP including Lester.

Might as well go with the douchecanoe battery for the stretch run...

I saw one that had Oscar Taveras, Shelby Miler and the competitive balance pick for David Price. Would you be down for that?

I would not, and the Rays amazing play makes that less and less likely. Then again, neither me, you, or anyone reading this topic are Mozeliak. I would only trade Taveras for a cost-controlled ace caliber or All-Star caliber player. That would mean Price would have some kind of handshake agreement in place to be in STL long term.

Someone in the Bowtie Brigade said Friedman would still deal Price despite how well the team is playing. I also find it hard to believe but I would pull the trigger on that deal. Waino and Price would all but assure the Cards the division and will matchup against anyone in the post season. Price isn't a free agent until after '15 so he's not just a rental.

As putrid as this offense has been, you could march out Bob Gibson in his prime and the division wouldn't be guaranteed.

Cameron bearish on OT.
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/when-im-a-bit-of-an-oscar-taveras-skeptic/

Masterson acquired at the deadline for OF prospect James Ramsey. almost 25 but still in AA, #7 prospect according to some list I saw. He looked like he could hit, but was blocked by a bunch of guys with Taveras, Grichuk, Piscotty all thought to be ahead of him. Holliday, Jay, Bourjos and Craig are on the MLB roster. Masterson has bad numbers this year, but the extreme groundballer might have better luck in front of an infield defense not as putrid as the Indian. If Wacha ever returns, Masterson could even go to the pen and be this years Seth Maness (death on RHB and double-play specialist).

Well, the other thread got hijacked. I think it's solid with slight BOS edge. Trading Craig opens up a spot for Tavares right? Didn't really sacrific anything from that damn gold mine farm.

Could do a lot worse than:
Waino/Wacha/Lackey Miller/Martinez

Aren't you forgetting Masterson?

Sorry I meant playoff staff. In the playoff I be scared to start him as he can't throw over 90 and has no control. I say he goes into the pen and probably gets at least 5 key DPs in a pinch.

D'oh forgot Lance Lynn. Put him in there somewhere. I don't know. Not my team.

He's a less sweaty version of Jake Westbrook. Seriously, dude was the wettest pitcher I've seen since John Wetteland.

That seems to be the consensus among the Cardinal fans I know down here.

They are not happy.

Wong almost did too. Would have been the perfect "fuck you" to me from them two.

Meanwhile, Matt Adams once again goes opposite field for a long single. Unconventional to say the least, but it's working for him.

At first I was stunned, but after further review, I'm ok with this deal. Craig hasn't been the same player this after the foot injury late last year. Maybe he gets his mojo back, maybe not, but we are 107 games into the season and it has been bleak to this point for him. Everyone says taveras is their best hitting prospect since pujols, but he has to play at some point if you're ever going to find out. This opens up right field so Oscar can play.

The other sell point for me is lackey. Experienced pitcher having a pretty good year in AL with poor team, who is not a rental for just this year but will be back next year for cards at bargain basement price of 500k. That's pretty solid to me, and since there really wasn't offense to be had on the market, they found a way to strengthen the team by addressing the rotation (including masterson). This may not pan out, but I have no problem with the thought process that led to the decision.

I think you guys are nuts. Craig has been awful and Lackey is better than Kelley.
