Love the FitBit. I find myself going out of my way to walk just to reach the goal. But other times I just sit on the couch and wave my arm up and down while drinking vodka straight from the bottle. It'll never know the difference.

My wife talked me into doing something called PiYo... a combination of pilates and yoga. I dont have a muscle in my body that isnt hurting today. I wish I could have seen myself to see how fucking idiotic I must have looked. I'll never make fun of these girly exercises again.

Yoga by itself is good stuff. Combined with Pilate's you will grow as big as The Hulk.

Throw a little cardio amd maybe some light weights and you're good to go

Been going to the gym at 6:15 a.m. every weekday for a couple weeks. Feels great to get the workout done before I leave for work.

Yeah I just always assumed that both of these were bored housewife workouts that were just an excuse to get out of the house and go drive their SUV to get Starbucks. I was wrong. My legs are a quivering mass of jello today.

Yeah, I didnt think I could get more sore today but I did. This is just an ass kicker. Being fat and out of shape probably isnt helping.

i have continued running, and am approaching my 1-year anniversary on that. Until recently i haven't really done any other exercising. I have definitely learned that there is a lot more to distance running than having strong legs - there is a lot of upper-body strength and conditioning needed as well. I know i am probably over-simplifying it somewhat, but i started doing pushups, sit-ups and pull-ups at home, just those three simple (and free!) exercises and is amazing what a difference it is making. I have no history as being an exercise guru, but sources i have talked to at different races i have run and people i have read online have indicated to me that if you can apply running, push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups, you really don't need anything more than that exercise-wise. I understand the value of paying for a gym or the YMCA due to weather if you are a runner or a cyclist. This is a serious question, not a dig at people who invest in gym memberships - what benefits are there to belonging to a gym or going to the Y if you can do these simple things on your own without all that equipment?

I think it's hard to work out at home. There is always something else to do or kids interrupt. There is more equipment at the gym so there is a variety of things to do. I push myself more when I'm there. I love the classes. I don't think I could do yoga without having some sort of instructor. I usually learn something or am more focused in strength classes than when I do free weights on my own. They have a pool that I and the kids use.

Spaulding there are a lot of black men that don't think you need to workout and a lot of black women in their 20's and older that would kill for your physique. I've learned a long time ago the majority of men that aren't black would disagree. I had quite a few argue that mid 20's Beyonce was fat.

I'm chubby and need to lose about 20 pounds. I think it looks worse on me because I'm so short and I hate being so soft looking. I need to get the muscle back. Commitment to excellence starts in about 25 days.

Both kids will be in school full time. Right now, I have a commitment to mediocrity going.

Just remember...cut out the carbs, sugar & processed foods. Not only will you lose weight, you will feel great.

recently started using the myfitnesspal app and it has been great. I stay within my calorie range every day and I lose weight. Lost about 10 lbs in the last couple of weeks and have not really exercised much. And I really have not changed my eating habits much.
