If Mac does not come back, he won't. I would say that's a pretty safe bet.

I don't think Spiegel gets to pick his new partner. But when everybody sits with him they know they have to get along with him. For example, when Spiegel got to the Score, drinky would do fat jokes about him on B&B. He's not gonna do that now. Remember how long drinky held that grudge when Spiegel calling him a "Part timer"? He'd reference it a lot. He won't do that now. Once he gets the gig, he can go back to hating Spiegel. But he has to show his bosses that he gets along with him during these tryouts. The all do.

Can't stress enough how badly they need to break up the midday if Mac is gone. With no transition (the idea of it being to let Mac and Terry interface), the 1 p.m. hour of B&B needs to go. 9-noon and noon-2 shows, please.

Fortunately, there is plenty of ass to go around for everyone. I am resigned to the fact that Spiegel will likely be retained if indeed Mac is brought back, but he really needs to know his place.
