So what does the Score pay a minor ex Bears player for his "insight" for 5 months? 10k a month?

They pay a minor ex-Expos player over $275k for 5 months of work.

So I'm guessing it's quite a bit.

With the long list of Bears "experts" the Score has, I can't imagine they are paying Mannelly much. If he desires a future career in the booth, I could even envision this as an unpaid volunteer internship.

Whatever the pay is, it's too much. Mannely is terribly vanilla.

They announced it 2 weeks ago he signed a deal. There was no exact plan for him, but he was going to be with ZZ, Hub and on shows during the week.

The slobbering on his knob by everyone has been excessive.

Two Duke grads on a local sports talk station. I bet they don't even have that in Durham.

No kidding with the slobbering. He seems like a pleasant and decent guy. Which makes him automatically not fit in at the Score.

The Score often makes fun of Chicago fans for over loving the talentless white guys on Chicago teams. Well, Mitch just hired one and everybody at the station is running around saying how wonderful he is.

Why do they do this? It's so weird. They do it with Bowen too.

You can totally tell that Manley will have nothing interesting to say...ever. That's not gonna stop anybody at the Score from telling the listeners that he's the greatest person to ever live.

You can add nothing critical to say either.

Mitch: Nice to meet you. What would be your style at the Score if we were to hire you.

Patrick: I'm gonna come in, kick back, say nothing of interest and never criticize the Bears. But I will always remind people that I'm a former white Bear.

Mitch: Great!!!! You're hired. Weekly segments on all of our shows. 100k a year sound good? By the way, did I tell you what a wonderful guy you are?

Patrick: 100k sounds good. And yes, you've told me 10 times that you think I'm wonderful. Everybody here tells me I'm wonderful.

Even drinky gushes over him for the love of God. Remember a few months ago when Manley came in to the B&B show as like an intern for the day? Drinky would pop on the air during that show giving updates on how much fun it is to play with Manley and how he's the greatest guy in the world. Drinky sounded like a kid at camp that found a new friend.

Drinky: Hey Dan, Patrick is sooooooooooo nice. We're having soooooooo much fun. He's super neato!!!!

Dan: That's nice drinky. You found a new friend. Play nice. Don't forget to wash up for dinner at 6pm.

Drinky: Yes Dad. Patrick, stop tickling me!!!!!

Dan: Crazy kids. Oy. We'll be back...

Now, if Manley gets Mac's gig over him, I don't think drinky will love Manley anymore. Then he'll attack the shit out of him on Bernstein's show.

They've also referred to his good looks, as if that matters on radio. The best radio guys seem to be ugly.

Swear to God, never thought of Manley for his first 12 years as a Bear. Nor did anybody I'm sure. But then the media started to promote him more for being a very long tenured Bear and telling everybody how he was a team leader and a great guy. Great guy, fine. The long snapper is not a team leader. But our media likes talentless white guys more than the fan base. So they have to build them into heroes.

Anyway, he's in the Bears book with the most games played.

Remember those dark days when the best player on the Bears was the center? the center who couldn't snap the ball?

Why do you even listen to sports radio, particularly the Score? You hate everybody.

the fact he was a bear for 12 years and you never thought about him is probably the best compliment you can give a longsnapper

I seldom listen any more. The current state of The Score is pathetic. I like Rozner, Rosey, Hub, Drinky, Joe O.

Tipped what off? That Manley is Mac's replacement or that he's just an employee of the Score?

It would be kind of funny if a former long snapper replaced Mac, who himself, has an affinity for long snappers.

He played for the Bears?

Patrick had some moments off quick wit honestly. I would rather him and Mac I think.
