SUCK.

Things I learned while watching preseason:

*Nepotism-New coach Mike Zimmer and Asst. Coach Norv Turner have their sons also working as Assistant Coaches on the team.

*Defense ranked last ,worse than our Bears

*The Bears let Corey Wooten go? Now on the Vikes. He got a sack last night.

* Tommy Bridgewater has a long way to go.

* Vikes playing at U of Minn. next 2 years but new stadium looks cool in the artwork they showed.

* The sideline reporter might as well be fellating the players. Bigger kiss ass than Canelis.

* BTW,My second favorite NFL team, the Raiders might go 0-16!!

if theres one thing bears fans and packers fans can always agree on, it's fuck the vikings. hands down the worst fans to encounter in packs @ soldier field/champaign. yeah every team ends up with its frat-row drunken shittalkers, but i'm talking about a 75%+ ratio of vikings fans who have a need to grab your attention and let you know that they're a vikings fan. if you give them any time of day then comes the banter, which is usually weak and AP/moss/favre-centric.

i've been fortunate enough to do ~20-30 bears games this decade and i can tell you that the only visiting fans who get drinks thrown at them are indeed vikings fans. i hope you don't run into a moss guy because he's rocking that jersey to let you know that he was always better than you.

it's not about championships in the end, no matter what bernstein tries to tell you. as a fan i think that the sports experience is about the good times you have enjoying the ritual of watching the games, win or lose. if your enjoyment of the sport is completely intertwined with winning you're going to end up a right miserable bastard on the road at a bears game in your moss jersey catching the business end of a half-finished drink on your walk out of the stadium for all your shit-talking exploits. go watch a documentary on british soccer hooligans/firms to see what the ULTRA-NON-AMERILARD endgame of ultra-fandom is all about.

when you go to a NFL road game you're hanging out with the other team's fans.... yeah represent and all that, but be respectful and have fun with it. i pay it forward a little bit @ bears games with my everygame quest to buy a beer for the opposing fan in the best opponent jersey. example: detroit fan rocking the bennie blades jersey? this one's on me. enjoy your stay at soldier field.

never underestimate the legend of bennie blades.

Sounds to me like Vikings fandom is the lone permissible outlet for Twin Cities folks to channel their typical passive-aggressive superiority into regular aggressive superiority, however misplaced it may be as, y'know, Vikings fandom.

Big difference is that Minneapolis/St. Paul and their suburbs are a great place to live (just ask them, they'll tell you) whereas Buffalo is a dump.

Hey jimmypasta, I like the Raiders too.

yeah dude, and slug isn't just the best white rapper in all the land... he's quite possibly the best rapper in the world!

(nevermind that he fell off after the modern man's hustle 12" (which i assume came out right b4 god loves ugly), sluggo is the GOAT... ask all of the 17 year old white girls that have been the crux of his live experience since ~2005 or whatever. and to those "hardcore" people who see me that and raise me a brother ali, well, i once made a video of me smashing "the undisputed truth" bonus DVD with a hammer called "i dispute the truth" =)

but hey minnesota gave us MST3K so they're not all bad, eh?

yeah dude, and in terms of overcast to the modern man's hustle 12" they wouldn't be wrong in terms of the guy being the best white rapper that isn't eminem (you might not like what eminem used his talents to do, granted, but there's no doubting that the guy can rap whenever the hell he feels like it.)

sage francis used to be a beast back in the day. back around the time of the "still sick..." series and non-prophets hope. this track is a fucking freestyle.... * hats off to the bearded pudgy white guy in a flannel from providence *

Sage is actually still making good music. Don't be such a purist.

I've been to 6 bears road games and many, many home games. On the road, except for a small group of Seattle fans we have been treated great by everyone, including Minnesota fans.

Really, the most boorish group I see are Bears fans at soldier field. At times I am embarrassed. The worst may have been the NFC title game vs. the saints.

I was at that game. I don't remember anything out of the ordinary. What happened?

New York fans are pretty bad, especially when the Cowboys come to town.

There was someone with a "Finish What Katrina Started" sign, and I highly doubt he was the lone person with sentiments along those lines.

None of that really bothered me. I mean, we had to be told that a markedly inferior Saints team with little to no experience in inclement weather not only would but had to blow through the Bears as a Team Of Destiny that would rebuild New Orleans by winning. I believe every Booyah expert picked the Saints to win. It was stupid, and deserved an equally stupid reaction.

To me signs are no big deal. But cursing at people (especially when they are with women and/or kids) and dumping beer on them is. That is what I saw at that Saints game.

180 difference from when I went to a game in New Orleans a couple years ago. Saints fans gave us beers, thanked us for coming, and gave us no abuse even though the Saints gave the Bears a beat-down that day.
