Did anyone see the little twitter skirmish between Chet and Matt Sunday evening? Coppock was complaining that he gave Danny Mac his start at the Loop when Dan was broke and now, according to Coppock ,Mac blasts him for no reason and allegedly said "he (Mac) would rather go to his grave than work with me"
Matt scoffed at Coppock who took the discourse to a different level by calling Spiegel "blubber gut"

Chester was announced. But never came out to the ring and was only at the meet and greet tent. Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash did the same thing.

Chet did help Mac but seriously Chet, who I normally defend, is crazy. BigFan is right. He literally thinks Mac can just start a show with Chet anytime.


Chet must have spent money. I dont know what he has against dignity. He could easily do a little fill in work here and there and enjoy his golden years watching sports and wrestling. He chooses to bitch for a living

One time I wrote something on Chet's facebook like "You're the best" or some throwaway comment. I got a private message from him seconds later asking me to call ESPN and tell them I want him on air

While Chet gave mac his first break, that doesnt mean Mac wouldnt have got on the air.

You could say having Mac around Chet helped chet have a a better show.

Everyone needs a first job and to start somewhere, do I need to continually thank the first guy who gave me a real estate job? Do I need to pay commissions to the guy who taught me how to trade? (Oh, I do that already... )

Tons of guys worked with Coppock, does Chet hassle the other guys who are no longer in the media and help them out?

Chet gave Dan his first break. I think Dan is appreciative.

Chet burned that bridge when Dan decided to leave him to go to the Score. Dan mended the rift.

Dan pretty much had to abandon the Chet style in order to make the Score work. The Score's existence was in response to the Chets of the Chicago sports world.

Chet probably feel that way. It might not have been so bad, maybe I'd have listened.

Maybe getting chet a job was too big of a thing, but an occasional segment wouldn't have been so bad. I usually find Chet to be good.



I guess the gratitude fades with time. Mac had more pull than most though. I still find Mac to be very Chetish, it's possible Chet resents that or his success at this stage in his career.

I think Mac's time is coming to an end and he might find himself in Chet's shoes. I know history doesn't support that and he brings ratings. Something hasn't been quite right the last 5-7 years, imo. It could be age, personal turmoil, or something else, but he seems off and his shows have sucked.

Just a little different though. There are thousands of real estate jobs. In fact, you can create your own real estate job. There are a very few spots in radio. I think at one time Chet felt that Mac bit the hand. But I thought he had gotten over that long ago. Apparently not.
