Told him he was a loser.

That the Score would never last.

And my personal fav..."welcome to a .6 rating."

Sorry<I like Mac but I'm in Chet's corner. The guy broke him in and now needs some help. I'm sure a few words from Mac could have got him a gig. What,a Chet hiring stands in the way of "The Joe Ostroski Shitfest"? C'Mon!

Chet has been saying this forever.

Im sure Mac was a big part of Chet being brought on board ESPN during the MJH days. Is the debt never paid?

Chet evidently has a new book coming out. I think he is just putting out incendiary statements to get people talking about him.

As much as you all hate Chet, he's more entertaining than half the hosts on the air

I mean, like this for instance...

Chet Coppock
August 7
Marc Trestman wants some kind of family atmosphere with the Bears... do you think ditka had a "family atmosphere" with the '85 champs? hell, no.... that team was on jealousy overload and "me first" promotion...led by Ditka... but that jealousy and strutting led to a championship...

DONT TELL ME THERE ISNT A MARKET FOR THAT

Chet's antisemitic harassment of Score employees stands in the way of a Chet hiring.

Still waiting on confirmation of any anti semtism.

He called Bernstein a jack ass and cursed him out. Not sure there was anything about being jewish there (although Im sure Berns inferred it and loves that people took it that way)

People like having him on staff just in case Jordan makes another comeback.

Chet would have been lucky to get a .6.

One of the most disliked people in the media. He had pull at Coke and Chevy that kept him on the air for years, North tried the same thing. If you can bring sponsors, you can get airtime somewhere.

Chet has no sponsors left.

Chet never got any rating.

That's a bad combination for a guy with a grossly over inflated view of himself.

Chet thinks he should be in Metpant's seat.
Chet probably feel that way. It might not have been so bad, maybe I'd have listened.

Maybe getting chet a job was too big of a thing, but an occasional segment wouldn't have been so bad. I usually find Chet to be good.

You could say having Mac around Chet helped chet have a a better show.

Everyone needs a first job and to start somewhere, do I need to continually thank the first guy who gave me a real estate job? Do I need to pay commissions to the guy who taught me how to trade? (Oh, I do that already... :D )

Tons of guys worked with Coppock, does Chet hassle the other guys who are no longer in the media and help them out?

I guess the gratitude fades with time. Mac had more pull than most though. I find Mac to be very Chetish, it's possible Chet resents that or his success at this stage in his career.
Actually, Kaplan is a hell of a lot more Chetish than Mac.

Also, I seem to remember Chet taking a shit ton of shows off, and that's where Danny Mac would fill in and hone his chops. Maybe The Chetster shouldn't have taken so much time off. Wait...

Are you saying that management doesn't know who Chet is or something? Bullshit. They know who he is and what an Ass he is.

Chet is a profession bridge burner. That book he put out was one of the last nails in his coffin. Stupid to talk shit about everyone in the biz with a job. Stupid.

Was Kaplan a veteran of one of Chet's Boyquaria? I don't know of anyone who made it out aside from Mac.

But that isn't really true. That's what I wanted out of the book but it wasn't really there. He only goes after a few people hard- Tomasulo, Mawicke, Pat Foley. I'm hoping his new book will do a better job.

It is sad to see what has become of Coppock. "Coppock in Sports" truly was ahead of its time and I liked the show and even the pontification. Kind of a Howard Cosell bit. But once he bombed in NY, he has been a total ass with absolutely zero class.

On a day when we lost Robin Williams, maybe Coppock can bow out next.

I forget exactly what he said. It's obvious in the book that he doesn't like him. My guess is they knew each other as kids in Wilmette. I mean, who doesn't like Foley as an announcer?

C'mon, wishing a sports guy dead because he has no class?

THAT wish could wipe out entire stations.

Even worse. So he gets the pub and rep for ripping everyone but doesnt even get to rip him

BTW, the photoshop job on his new book is pathetic for a publishing company
