I know there are other beat guys and other reporters, but these guys are almost linked directly to the team. They are there more than some of the players and if something breaks, these guys can go live on a radio station at any time they want.

So, who is better? Yes, you need to pick one over the other.

I have never had the distaste for ZZ as others. I find him informative. I heard him on with LoHo the other night, and I thought he did a nice job. It's tough not to be a jock sniffer when you're that heavily imbedded with the team.

They both suck. Never understand why they can't be like Biggs and actually break stories or be more critical when it's required. Especially JD, since he doesn't work for the Bears and thus wouldn't have to cover up stuff like Zack is required. But they both feel that they have to be Bears cheerleaders or PR guys.

They both seem to never connect with the show that they are doing updates for. They always need more information and clairification about questions.

He will criticize the Bears when its warranted. Rick, you should listen to him more because he is not a Cutler guy. ZZ is like Rongey, they will defend the team no matter what happens like their lives depend on it.

I saw a ZZ doppleganger at the Georgetown book store a couple of weeks ago. The guy was a dead ringer. I was tempted to do the Kramer thing and call out his name to see if he reacted.

I think their aspirations in this business are entirely different. ZZ would like to be an announcer. JD would like to be a show host only because it pays more than reporter.

He's informative but he doesn't process the information adequately enough to construct a good thought. In fact when he tries to reach the next level of making an informed thought he often fails spectacularly. Much of Bernstein's intermittent derision of ZZ is often warranted. "If you go back in history to the early '80s, the Bears have never lost a game during which they led by more than 10 points at the half in game day temps of 70 degrees or lower." WTF is the relevance of that to a game played in 2013? There is none. Zero. Yet ZZ suggests he's on to something.

Then there's the semi serious moment where he theorized players who play further away from the line of scrimmage once the ball is snapped tend to be more interesting and flamboyant players than others.
