I'll take it a step further, there was no better grape soda than jewel generic brand.

someone needs to be working on my brilliant idea for these so-called 'lesser' pops (i.e. everything not cola, diet cola, lemon lime)
there needs to be a variety pack
just like the little boxes of cereal
make a 12 pack and you get 3 cans each of root beer, grape, fruit punch, maybe ginger ale or something...
they obviously sell less than the major flavors and this would be a great way to sell more

When I was 16, I worked at McDonald's. The brothers always ordered orange soda.

Royal Chessman! When I met my first wife she was living at 420 Linden. I ate that pizza more than I'd like to remember.

Hopefully just the pizza ...

I'm sure I've related this story here before. I'm getting old like a broken fuckin' record. Anyway, this seems like the right spot to tell it again.

One night I was out with one of my good friends getting pizza at a place called LaRosa on Dempster. Well, the pizza comes out and my buddy finds a hair in it and starts going apeshit, bitching and complaining. I told him it wasn't a big deal. Just a little hair, it wasn't gonna kill him. So I asked him if he ever ate pussy. He said, "Yeah, and I'd be just as sick as I am now if I found a green pepper down there."

He did have a point.

What about your ideas to have a cologne that smells like the beach, or ketchup and mustard in the same bottle?

Hell yeah.

The orange, root beer and lemon lime was solid. Couldnt do the Cola

RC is the neighborhood store of Pop. Its good. Better than Pepsi. Not as good as Coke.

The problem with RC is that the "Diet Rite" sucks.

Grew up with my parents always getting Diet Rite. FUUUUUUUUUUUCK Diet Rite. The fruit sodas were okay, but the cola was wretched. WRETCHED.

I'm a Coca-Cola loyalist myself, though I don't drink nearly as much soda as I used to. Usually Diet Coke or Coke Zero, but still, few things better in this world than a regular Coke on a hot day.

I think my Grandparents had the same case of Diet Rite in their house for 10 years. They probably never drank soda, and this was for when the grandchildren came over. Absolutely awful.

Everyone's grandma had Diet Rite

My mom's pizza place had cherry RC because I loved that stuff as a kid. She had Pepsi (even had crystal pepsi for a while which I thought wasn't bad, but I was 12 what did I know?) and snapple too in the generic soda cooler.
She's switched to a pepsi fountain, it hasn't been the same.

Cherry RC was great. Best cherry pop out there.

Whoa. Cherry RC is good. Cherry Pepsi actually makes drinking Pepsi ok

But Cherry Coke is the standard

Costco sells a Fanta variety flavors case.

And Montreal Orange and Grape soda were pretty damn good too.

That's only because "our" first two choices: "Red Pop" & grape weren't sold at Mickey D's.

I have a bottle of Diet Green River in my fridge right now. It reminds me of my old neighborhood candy store where it was always on tap. You could get it in phosphate form.

I didn't say it was the only good thing about McD's.

I look at it like this: The difference between good fountain pop and bad fountain pop is HUGE. McD's has the best.
Good fries are good, but bad fries are ok also. Just need a little more ketchup. Or mayo.

Next time I see you I'm gonna bring you the giant Costco-sized barrel of mayo. Those probably come in a 2-pack so start making room in your place now

Agree. Some convenience stores are almost undrinkable.

While we're on this topic:
Is there a bigger kick in the nuts than when you go through the drive-thru and then you pull away, take that first sip of your pop, and it's the wrong damn pop? You pretty much can't go back through the line for that, and you can't go in because - well, let's face it, there's a reason why we were in the drive-thru in the first place. That will ruin the rest of my day......
