This statement is so incredibly ignorant on so many different levels that I figure you would have figured out at least one by accident.

Oh well, I'll keep hoping.

I know I'm a bad guy for saying it, but some of these kids are so damn fat. Kid from Rhode Island is 5'7" and 194 pounds, yikes.

That's "big", but nowhere near as big as I have seen at that age.

BTW - entertaining game so far. I'm flipping between this and the MNF game.

Cool moment between the kid from JRW that hit the HR and the coach from Rhode Island. Cool on both of their parts.

I've never really watched this on TV before, but to me the kid's expressions after a play (both good and bad plays) are the best part of the game. :D

I've watched it a couple of times but you can tell some of them live and die with ever pitch/play.

Why do they use some sort of bats that are yellow and look like little wiffle ball bats. Also, I hate them being in football helmets basically with facemasks.

The bats are $300 each. Minimum. Probably more.

Facemasks are required for little league. Too many errant throws and foul tips.

I didn't say they were cheap. I meant they looked stupid.

Take a breath man. Just sharin' knowledge, you know?

The bats are more like fastpitch softball bats: lightweight, big barrel. The kids can really whip them through the zone.

Depends. They can be heavier or lighter but the length/weight ratio is limited.

At the level I coach it's -12, not sure what the limit is for these kids. I'm sure RR or others know.

They are all Easton bats, and I am sure the vast majority of equipment is Easton. They pay a pretty penny I am sure for this. These get a lot of cool equipment for nothing, which is sweet.

No, not until you go to the big barrel.

This is why it's cool! 1st inning HR by Pierce and the 3rd baseman thinks it is cool the guy led off with a HR!

When I coached 13 & 14 year olds about 7 years ago, -3 was the maximum the bats could be. -12 would be ridiculous at that age.
