I was getting frustrated. Couldn't figure it out.

You know what it was? He had an "Emoticon" of crying in that twitter post. I copied that with the words and that's the reason it came up "error" while trying to post here for some reason.

Goff did a great job developing a "take Dan Bernstein's haughty know-it-all act to a southern city that's had quite enough of northerners strolling into town like a bunch of haughty know-it-alls" problem, but I don't think that's the kind of problem he meant.

local radio guy should have told him to get ratings and pretty much every sin gets overlooked

That really needs to be highlighted for some of these guys. These aren't kids making mistakes while developing their skills. The "young talent" is in their mid 30s.

If Mac just sits by and takes this fucking shit lying down I will lose all respect for him.

I lost all respect for him years ago when he ended up in rehab again, and then burned all the vacation time before his contract ran out this summer. He knew he wasn't coming back, but he told everyone this wasn't good-bye. Forever a asswipe

Schmitty I like your work but can't agree with you here. It is sad when people end up back in rehab because they can't control their demons, that goes for anyone. And if I new my contract was up, I would be taking all of my vacation time also, why not.

Exactly. I think if he had been killing it in the ratings book, he could pimp whatever salsa he liked.

As for him having difficulty getting hired in Chicago, his options are simply limited. He has a reputation for being on bernstein's "tree" of attack radio specialists. DeCastro has consciously positioned the Game as the antidote to that. And ESPN certainly isn't looking for guys to call its listeners dumbfucks. He'll probably end up back on the Score. But maybe he just doesn't have a champion over there. bernstein has made it clear in the past that he doesn't stick his neck out for anyone.

Most companies cash payout for unused vacation at termination. You've earned it so its yours. Just one more aspect of his actions that is fair to question, his commitment to being on the air.

Hey, everybody cries about their job and rips their co workers at bars and lunches. We all do it.

But Goff can't cry about it on twitter like that. Not in a Chicago radio market with limited opportunities. He comes off as jealous and whinny. Not to mention, what if Mac goes to THE GAME? Now Goff is off his list of partners. Granted, Goff already burned that bridge so he figures, what the hell?

Still, Bernstein's guys need to learn how to not burn bridges. How to not kick people in the nuts just cuz it's fun. Especially when they're still on the climb. Their only star friend in the business is Bernstein and he ain't gonna help them. Nor does Bernstein really consider any of his soldiers his friends. It's just them thinking that they are.

Ding, ding, ding

And the developing talent is late 30's to mid 40's.

Goff's comments make him look really dumb... goff, if you actually could generate ratings you'd be able to murder someone and still have a job in radio... they'd negotiate an isdn line and a cable TV to your jail cell if they had to

It's amazing how Goff can't realize that the radio biz is the same as the sports biz. Cuz how many times has Goff probably handled a caller like this one?

Caller: I can't believe these druggies, rapists, drunks and murderers keep getting 2nd chances in the NFL and NBA.

Goff: Oh my god. You can't be this dumb. IF YOU HAVE TALENT YOU GET 2ND AND 3RD CHANCES IN SPORTS. If you don't, they cut your ass

Caller: Just setting you up, Goffer. I read your tweet about radio guys getting 2nd chances for getting DUIs and having Depression. Then you crying about being fired over Salsa. What you just said applies in radio, too, DUMB ASS.

Goff:  I....Uhhhhh...WE HAVE TO BREAK. We'll be back with more NBA talk right here on SIRIUS radio.
