This is truth. Just have a good old time holding court in some bar.

The truth is, like all Score anniversaries, this is a thinly veiled sponsor event. There is nothing wrong with that, it just shouldn't be confused with some important pouring out of mutual love between host and listener.

Not to OVER analyze..but just by getting feel of room from video and counting tables...if you assume dimensions and numbers are consistent with what we CAN see...I am guessing three sides around dance floor...5 tables per side...10 people per table...150 people....75%? score employees and guests?

Even if lower...pretty pathetic for a show bragging been on for 15 years in the 3rd LARGEST market in the country during drive time. Congrats Dan and Terry on just not sucking TOO much!

I think that is a conservative estimate but acceptable. Now, they were more likely 8 person tables but there were more than 5 per side as the crossbar of the U is longer than the uprights.

I thought I counted 7 on the upright, so lets say 21 tables with 170 total people.

As far as attendance: Dan and Terry each get a table. Score executives get a table. Score promotions get a table. Probably another 2-3 go to the biggest sponsors. Entertainment gets a table in the corner somewhere. I would say AT MOST there were 120 paying customers. My best guess would be 100. Mc Nugget challenge had at least 20 without any city wide promotion.

I can only imagine the sad sack table of guys like Ten Foot Midget and Schmutzie who stretched to cover the cost because of how important this event was to them.
Thats a big sacrifice for Midge. Fridays are big tip nights in the pizza delivery business.

My guess is they have a lot of listeners who fit in the second paragraph but either wish or think they are in the first paragraph.

I think you can tell that with Dan's advice to "drink the good stuff and not the cheap stuff on New Years Eve" like it is some sort of major thing to not drink Bug Light or Andre for at least one day a year. I'm sure he has a bunch of people in Chicago saying "He's right, I'm drinking a Stella this NYE!".

I was just trying to fit in.

I wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near that type of swill-chugging soiree.

It's not just anyone who can be the Boers and Bernstein expert on animal husbandry.

Can you imagine being a low level Score employee on that Friday afternoon and Mitch walks up to you and says, "here are two tickets to the 15th anniversary party. I need you to go. We have to fill the tables to make it look good to the sponsors".

Tickets were going fast. The event was "sold out." They should have had photos and videos of people having a good time enjoying their selves. I've been to numerous events that were intentionally overbooked, so I can understand the need to imply a sense of urgency. But the "sold out" statement and the apparent lack of turnout suggests something much different. How do they expect people to respond the next time they hear Bernstein giving his spiel?

That's nearly as bad as being forced into going to dinner with Carmelo Anthony.

I've seen this mentioned a few times.

I feel I need to clarify that tickets were actually "going faster than expected".

I have no doubt that tickets were going that fast.

I don't think david spada went, primarily because he didn't complain about it.

Holy smokes, if there is ACTUALLY a person who shakes his hand - with both hands - and says "thank you" for covering important topics etc.....well, I don't know. I'm more worried about our society than Radio Dan. YIKES.

He's so earnest - so real - he "doesn't know what they do (as a show)". That makes sense. Literally the thing that you do every day to feed and provide for your family, you literally don't know what it is. Ok. He knows what he's told to do, but he never thinks about the show and is stunned when people stop him to thank him for getting them through a tough time etc.

Holy disingenuous Batman. You remember how he used to mock Oprah, and all of her clapping, mindless idiot fans? Does he TRULY think that her impact on people was laughable while he and Terry have somehow made a real impact on people's lives with their "stupid" show?

And yes, Dan made some mention (in a recap) about the place being sold out - and mentioned 350 people (or "around that much") when talking about the room. Seems that is BS, and I am personally STUNNED that this show has gotten to the point where there's literally not ONE person here who attended. That's crazy. I've seen it dwindle over the years, for sure, but NO ONE? That's a, well, as they would say, that's a somethun.

Unlike others, I think drinky is a good, talented and likeable guy in a difficult spot for a number of reasons. I wouldn't mind seeing him getting an opportunity to find his own voice.

Look, man. I don't care if you're putting from the rough. There are solid arguments that some of the greatest people in history were gay; Alexander the Great, Caeser, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Napoleon, Gertrude Stein, not to mention Danny Terrio, not many straight men can dance like that.

You know, I used to feel that way too until I found out that Alexander the Great was a f-a-g. Talk about gays in the military!

I think he is playing a role on the show. The role used to be fun, frat guy until he gained a family and had to go legit. Now it is whatever he is now with it bleeding into his side work because he is still just on loan from B and B.

CH there's a lot to like in your posts, but your use of atypical vocabulary is my favorite. Dolt is not used often enough.
