Seconded.

But I think our coach should've left the middle reliever in. 22 pitches means he can't go tomorrow. It'll either be the reliever or the kid that caught tonight (& struggled starting yesterday)

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm fairly certain he reached the 20-pitch threshold during the final batter he faced, which means he is eligible to pitch today.

Does not matter, if you go over 20 pitches you can't pitch today.[/quote]

the threshold is 20 pitches, but if you start a batter when you have 18 pitches, for example, and finish that batter with more than 20 pitches and he's the last batter you face, your count "goes back" to 20 and you are eligible to pitch the next day.

from the little league website:

Rule VI (d) – Pitchers
e. Pitchers league age 14 and under must adhere to the following requirements:
•If a player pitches 66 or more pitches in a day, four (4) calendar days of rest must be observed.
•If a player pitches 51 to 65 pitches in a day, three (3) calendar day of rest must be observed.
•If a player pitches 36 to 50 pitches in a day, two (2) calendar day of rest must be observed.
•If a player pitches 21 to 35 pitches in a day, one (1) calendar day of rest must be observed.
•If a player pitches 1 to 20 pitches in a day, no rest is required.

EXCEPTION: If a pitcher reaches a day(s) of rest threshold while facing a batter, the pitcher may continue to pitch until any one of the following conditions occurs: 1. That batter reaches base; 2. That batter is retired; 3. The third out is made to complete the half-inning. The pitcher will only be required to observe the calendar day(s) of rest for the threshold he/she reached during that at-bat, provided that pitcher is removed before delivering a pitch to another batter.

Ontiveros, my apologies. I managed this stuff for 3 years and ran it longer than that. As Reader has stated that is a rule change, and I like it.

no apology necessary. was just clarifying. I've also coached LL for the last 6 years and i try to stay on top of the pitch-count rules. i also like the fact that LL changed this particular rule.

RR, which would be the more "easy"/favorable matchup for these kids, Vegas or Philly?

Philly. Their best pitcher is done & Vegas has their two best just waiting. Plus Vegas looks like a proper travel ball team with 5-6 solid pitchers.

Both us & Vegas are better than the foreign teams...imo.

So is Vegas' No. 2 even remotely comparable to their No. 1? Looks like a rematch is imminent.

I have watched more little league baseball this year than MLB. Honestly, the little league games are more exciting...faster paced & more offense. Chicago has a tough road with LV having their 2 best pitchers available for the next game. If they beat LV, I think they win the championship. Cant wait for tomorrows game.

No, not sending the $1200 check

However, if you cant find about $100K in sponsors after this, I think the organization needs some new leadership.

Hint #1

call Aiken law Group. Howard loves his baseball!

#2

I cant believe Sports Authority doesnt get behind it.

#3

Any car dealer

#4

Think big, go national! Kellogs! coca cola!

Promotion of the games is in typically overwrought ESPN fashion. Their style becomes more disturbing to me with the decreasing age of players. What may be ok for pros becomes exploitative of a child.

That manager for Mid-Atlantic seemed weak and confused out there. When the kid was flopping around and screaming at the umpire, my first thought was that none of the boys from Chicago would do that. And if they did, there would be hell to pay.

I'm talking more about highlighting individual players in their "coming up tomorrow" spots. The whole thing just seems so much less innocent.

I think that ESPN is doing a great job with the LLWS. I don't see anything exploitative about it. The pros get enough air time & I think its great that these kids are in the spotlight, which will be a cherished memory for each of them & their parents.

There is one kid that makes Puig's bat flips look like nothing. They drilled a kid on purpose the other day also, it was so obvious.
