Maybe Bernstein set the tone lately, but nobody set it for him, he did what he wanted, maybe some of these guys should get a new gimmick instead of "You're an idiot, I am much smarter because I am on the radio"

Randazo - Well documented by others and I never denied it, but his various appearances where you get more of him, it's really evident. Kind of a dick.
Rongi - In his defense, he is paid to be a Sox defender, but the constant fighting with callers, while entertaining to me, not a long term solution. It's like wanting to see the guy jump off the cliff, but after the 4th guy, it got old.
Rodewald - Not on much, but when he is lotsa self compliments. then I see his Twitter account "4-time Emmy-winning reporter. Anchor/Host on Chicago's @670thescore" I had to laugh.
Leary - Smartest guy in the room, just ask him, but dont let him corner you!
Spiegs - I do think he tries to let people talk, but he will break bad on you in 2 seconds if he doesnt think you are on his level.

This is a bad trend!

I had this 3 years ago. The Score will be buried by the time Mitch wakes up and backs up the truck!

Agreed scorehead...been saying this myself for many years...Mitch is not a sharp guy...he's just not good at spotting talent or firing talent less hacks because he likes em or represents them.

Things could be a lot different right now at The Score if Mitch would have went to The Game....

Mitch is not the guy who makes these calls. Zimmerman does. Mitch can suggest and try to convince Zimmerman 1 on 1, but he doesnt make the call. The little man upstairs does and his calls have nothing to do with what is good or bad, it's about him showing Y-T-Y profits increase.

Then Zimmerman is a control freak and why have a buffer in Mitch? Just micromanage everything. What a tool if this is the fact. The worst management possible.

Fuckin' bean counters, I tell ya. Compared to the iron fist of Clear Channel, CBS seemed to be good about fostering good radio and letting stations run themselves with minimal interference from above, too.

Mitch is a programming director. It's like the manager of a baseball team. They have input, sometimes they have more or less, but it's never their call. Their call is who to play. Mitch runs the day to day. Just like Ron Gleason runs 780 WBBM and he also reports to Zimm, same with B96, US99, etc....

The difference is that the Score people are the station. I would guess a morning guy for the Country or B96 is more of a show and they get paid on personality, but after 9 AM, it's time to just play music with a comment here and there.

I think B96 has a personality-driven show in afternoon drive, which is highly unorthodox for top 40. But it has seemed for some time that Zimmerman has regarded the Score as the cluster's problem child and intervened more in its affairs than he would seem to in the other stations.

Did you have a run in with the Dazzler that has not been shared with the class?

Yeah. You ever notice how they use "Bernstein Language" as well?

Like Rodewald this morning: "Not to sound like a "meatball" but I like this Little League World series shit. I want our Chicago kids to win."

Why qualify it? Want to make sure Bernstein knows it's a "meatball" thouight? That you're self aware?

Him and others. I often hear drinky talk about taking the train. Does he look around that train? Guarentee you 100% of the people on that train have more difficutlt jobs than he. Jobs that require more intelligence than his. He answers phones, jumps on the air to act like a high school kid and goes home. The guys and ladies on that train do more difficult work than him. But he's the one calling them "Meatballs".

Sports radio producers are the ultimate "meatballs". Ever hear them talk?

Not at all, others have said things to me and to be honest he sounds kinda smug for the short time he is on with updates, but now that he gets more time with a baseball show, he spends an awful lot of time taking shots at Bruce, fans, etc. But everyone thinks he will be a play by play guy for a MLB team, so they dont want to be on his bad side, but he see still seems to be a dick.

Zim did not hire Mitch.

Paul Agase did.
