Starting a big time restaurant/brewery in Berwyn is the type of brilliant business move you come to expect from former athletes.

He should be an investment adviser. "Your net worth will take a Big Hurt when you work with us!"

You beat me to it. This joint is at Oak Park Ave & Cermak Rd, my old neighborhood. Of all the places that he could have put this joint & he picks Berwyn? Sheesh...

In the same general area as one of the original Chicago brewpubs - the late great Weinkeller.

This should be in the RIP section.

Frank was a great hitter and a failure at everything else.

and the greek guy who owns the building is the one making all the money and Kenny went bust on this deal.

because playing in the minor league and scouting baseball players is fabulous preparation for owning a bar.

I've seen some bands at Cigars and Stripes on Ogden. Cool bar, reminds me of old Delilah's/Augenblick, etc. I know more than a few old Punks who moved to Berwyn to buy bungalows in the 00's. You can see there stamp on some of Berwyn's businesses and activities. The most recent Taste of Berwyn or Czechfest or whatever had a Ramones cover band headlining on a Saturday night   .

There's a building at 32nd and Oak Park Ave (right at the Berwyn Metra stop) that was an office building converted to condos that me and a former gf were looking at a few years back....they were real nice inside.

Berwyn seems kind of cool. nice housing stock. some interesting shops/bars/restaurants. I know a Berwyn cop (gasp!), he says the gang problem is still pretty bad.

Nice housing stock? I guess if you like cookie cutter bungalows close enough that you can reach out your kitchen window & touch your neighbors house. Berwyn has always been a tough place. When I was a yute Berwyn was full of greasers all wearing wife beaters, rolled up pant legs & straws. Lots of fights but never any weapons.
Ahhh...the old neighborhood...

Highest population density in the state -- even greater than Chicago. Now 60% Hispanic population.

Not even Scottie Pippen could do this.
