Now this is going to sound meatballish, but why was Konerko not playing Sunday? Dunn is traded, and the fans get treated to Andy Wilkins? The Sox are 13 games out of the first place and moving players who aren't part of their future. You have one of the best hitters in franchise history hanging it up at the end of this month. Unless Konerko is hurt or sick, there is no reason he should not be in the lineup every single home game the rest of the year. He isn't hindering anybody coming up for next year. If he plays 1st, Abreu can DH. Let the fans see #14 out there as much as they can this month. Its just another shining example of how Robin only seems to manage 'by the book' and doesn't deviate from that whatsoever regardless of what the situation might call for.

Yes, Keyser, the Sox need better players. But they also need a better manager.
