Oh boy! Here we go with THE SCORE'S new 9-1pm radio destructathon! Today is the big debut so that means, in keeping with tradition, Meat will be off due to vocal/touring difficulty with his band.

THE SHOW
-Heavy Bears focus! The season is upon us! Breaking down 3rd string QB's and such with a co-host that has stated that he will not, under any circumstance, break bad on his former teammates. So much for unfiltered discussion.
-More Bears, possible NFC North talk.
-"We" Jar jokes.
-Baseball and possibly basketball talk? I dunno, probably.
-Hockey! Because that is one of the guests they are having on.

Am I excited for this show? No, I will probably check in from time to time but I can't see things going in to much depth outside of football but even then not really because one of the hosts won't be critical of former teammates. I'm hoping that changes.

Can this show be good? Maybe, it's up to Meat to assert control and do show prep and not be a thin skinned joke. It's his show now, Mac is gone and buried so he needs to really take the bull by the horns. As for Mannelly....well he admitted that he has zero plans to be very critical of the Bears and his sports knowledge outside of football is suspect. He has a decent delivery, his voice isn't annoying and he can converse...that's better than the 1-6pm show and the morning show and anything Rozner brings to the table.

We shall see.

1st official show as @Spiegs_Mannelly tmrw at 9. Guests include Donovan McNabb, Bulls boss John Paxson, & Hawks PBP man Pat Foley. #GameOn

The Game will almost certainly be on.

Do these guys even think about what they post?

I'm in. I am just looking for a reason to headbutt a stainless steel fridge this morning.

I'll give it a shot but I don't expect to be surprised.

Consider this a fresh start for both the host and the listeners. An opportunity to create something new out of something familiar. To build on what you like and introduce what you've wanted, to get rid of what you didn't like and to replace it, or not. Clearly there is room for growth and development. Also, now that Meat is out from under Mac's shadow he can come in and be the lead dog, drive the show, talk the talk he wants to talk.

The amount of estrogen that gets injected into the discussion is now totally controlled by the veteran, as the newcomer will get a pass until the football season ends or he sugarcoats the obvious failings, whichever comes first.

This show is going to suck.

Grimace would be a perfect fit on The View.

Solid analysis. I would like to see Mannelly break bad on some of the guys. NO miquetoast talk. This is their chance
to make a wave or two in the ratings. I don't see Big Purps as a driver but maybe he will come back with a chip on
his shoulder.

 That would be alot of exercise for him. a little too much wave action for me though. I am getting ready
to turn the dial over here in 10 minutes.

Don't. 7 minutes and I'm already out and tuned into Kap & Haugh. Already drilling Briggs.

Manns is ripping on Briggs for taking the day off to open a restaurant.

Not bad.

It's alright, I guess, for being 15 min in..,

You won't want to hit yourself in the face with a toaster after listening.

I was going to say this is Mannellys first chance to be critical of a former teammate as a host. Laying into Briggs? I'm surprised.

It's a good sign but will he lay into Briggs after a bad game?

Nobody bothered to change the avatar on radio.com. It's still McNeil and Grimace.

I'm not. I don't really have a reason to listen, considering I don't even like the Bears.

The first segment was alright.

Mannelly actually has a pretty good radio presence in the sense that his voice is good and he can actually structure a thought/sentence without "ummm-ing" and "aahhhh-ing" through it.

So you're saying he's well-spoken. Good thing he's not black

Well, it doesn't seem to be a prerequisite to have a show on The Score.

So, I thought it was worth mentioning.

It's been decent. Mannelly has been pretty solid and spilling some beans on the Bears. He can definitely
talk football, i just want to see how he can handle other sports and BBQ sauce talk.

ESPN hasn't been working on my Tune-In app since yesterday (or yestaday, for Mac) morning. Still nada. I'm on the Game.

Pretty sure he will have p!enty of chances this year for that to happen.

Mannelly seems pretty likable.

It has the potential to be not awful.
